Odyssey Air Assault & Support in 3310

Are you asking about CZs or standard settlements?

Either way, both turrets can be switched off from the ground. CZ turrets can be individually overloaded for 10 mins down time. Settlements at peace, I think, can have their turrets switched off from the relevant control panel (not 100% sure on this one - might just be anti personnel turrets).

The CZ turrets can be overridden effectively enough to (almost) win a CZ entirely from the air by bombarding the enemy troops with dumbfires. It's no more effective than doing it all on foot but it's an alternative and very effective in a team (albeit if you're overly effective with this it can then make it quite dull for the on foot team who end up with no one to fight!)

Just raiding settlements, not conflict zones.
I know they can be turned off from the ground. I am talking specifically about destroying them with ship weapons.
Seeing as we haven’t been flooded with pictures of them being destroyed and that pretty much anything other than our ships is indestructible I would say it’s a no.

Has anyone determined an effective strategy for destroying Odyssey settlement AA guns from the air, or does air support just revolve around tanking damage while you dumbfire the on-foot infantry?
Does chaff, ECM, or point defence have any effect whatsoever against Odyssey settlement defences?
I admit I do not engage with Odyssey content very much, hence all the questions. But I remember the AA guns being comically tanky, like borderline invincible against ship weapons. Just wondering if anyone has powered through it and figured out how to blow up the stupid things in a reasonable amount of time, or if they're just made of pure handwavium to force the player out of their ship.
My settlement assault ship uses a combination of overcharged (corrosive) multicannons and dumbfire missules.
Depending on the position of the turret, one can usually be taken out within about 30 seconds.

What about Remote Release Flak Launchers? They are pretty good for blowing brain trees. I think they might work for the settlement meat as well.

Thank you! Do you use a large pad gunboat with lots of hardpoints?
No, just a Krait mk2. It has enough hardpoints and is small enough to manoeuvre quickly around the settlement while using the buildings for cover.
Here's the loadout on edsy: Krait mk2 with 3 large MCs and advanced missile racks.

I usually take out the main defences from the air, along with many of the guards, then land and clean up the remaining personnel with the SRV and on-foot combat.

Roberto Gallardo,

Sorry for the late reply!

Here's a Corvette I use for both ground and air stuff: https://edsy.org/s/vNw11fk

Design philosophy being:

-Strong enough to tank the non-CZ Settlement Anti-Air Turrets (4 pips to sys, stronk shields, shield cell banks)

-Double Plasma Accelerators shred the big turrets, each hitting for ~10% integrity. If all shots connect you can destroy a turret in 20 seconds, since against these weapons the big turrets have ~2000 effective HP. Aim for the junction between turret and base. Single Huge Plasma (Anaconda, Cutter, FDL, Mamba) or double Large Plasmas also work. Advanced Plasma Accelerators as well.

-Pair of Advanced Missile Launchers for use against personnel and smaller turrets.

-Ship Launched Fighter if launched before the attack run can also help and/or fend off air patrols.

-Scorpion SRV to support the ground phase once turrets and most troops are destroyed.

EDIT: Feel free to add me ingame: Vianna86. I'm a fellow combined arms/CAS ground attack enjoyer!
