Everybody is frothing at the mouth to cough-up another 30 bucks to Frontier. This when you still can't drop on a wingman's signal without popping out on the other side of the planet or spawning duplicates of the NPC pirate you're after.

Drop the hype! Fix the base game's bugs like you promised. Deliver fleet carriers like you promised. Then I'll consider paying for an expansion.

That's like saying you can't have cooking in an RPG game because there are already cooking games...
First of all Frontier is a business. One of the major ways to make more money is to bring more players and that can be accomplished by expanding the game. It's not like I wouldn't want current gameplay fixed and enhanced but I hope that we can have both

I had multiple failures to drop with a wingman just last night. This on Xbox. Not fixed!

And on the other stuff, well the beauty of it all is, you’re not in any way obligated to actually buy Odyssey, and can see whether all that stuff is fixed when it’s released and make your purchasing decision then.

And waiting till something’s released to see if you want to buy it is a pretty sensible and normal thing to do anyway.

So, err... welcome to the world of sensible, rational purchasing I guess. I’m sure FD will be devastated by you adopting that approach and will completely change their plans as a result. Top work. 🤷‍♂️

Certainly not frothing at the mouth to drop more coin on Odyssey. It is not a preorder, or even a week one buy for me. I am going to have to see what's in it b4 I buy. However, we are talking about DLC that is at least 9 months away, likely much more. Plenty of time yet for them to exceed my expectations for this update.
It's also good to let others and Fdev know what you want as a condition of a sale. What better place than putting it out on the official forums is there to let Fdev and others know what those conditions are?

OP, while it does not mean you have not been having issues, dropping on wing beacons has been working for me on PC, and others as well. Have you submitted a ticket?

My, we are angry today, anyway it will be 50 "bucks" because we dont have a trade agreement with the US, although why we want to pay in mammals is beyond me.

I'm in the same boat - im very Meh so far. A few of the things I was hoping for were flat out not included in the new Expansion, while others are highly unlikely though not fully confirmed. I can not allow myself to get excited, and must remind myself of that. We will see, its too early to tell. My feelings might change.

I am far more excited about Fleet Carriers next week. I know what i'm getting with them and they work well for me.

Things might change, time will tell, its too early. Ask me again in the new year. Ask me again after that at Launch.

Just like Fleet Carriers though - The New Expansion may not be for everyone, and it might shape up to be a niche product it seems.

That is the great thing about any game or anything for that matter. You decide if you want to buy it or not. You can say anything you want and your right, that is your right for only yourself. As for me I would but it, but as an Alpha backer it was included. No it was not free I paid for it as did anyone who backed the game and paid enough and got the lifetime expansion package.

If your waiting for them to fix bugs that effect you and your friends but not everyone then you may have a long wait. As someone said previously they had the issue and it was fixed for them. As for me, I don't play in a wing though have been in a couple and had no issues. That is the crux of the issue, a lot had issues I never saw, and then I had micro stutter for awhile and then it went away after a few days. So was it me? My drivers? A stealth fix? No clue but others made mention of it and as usual some had it and some didn't. How do you fix an issue that effects some and not all?

In any event Odyssey may be MEH to you, but to me I am anxious to get it and try it out. Everyone's mileage will vary of course and what you want fixed doesn't match with the next person's who doesn't match with the next and so it will ever be. Enjoy the game over all? If yes then it may worth a 2nd look at Odyssey, if not then it may not be worth it to you. That is up to you.

Can't see myself laying out cash for this update. If I wanted to play a first person shooter, I'd get the (free) Mac client of Fornite. Wait and see though.
