Odyssey scope mod issue/warning

Ok so it appears this may be affecting all new scopes, even ones already fitted onto weapons bought from Pioneer. Thought there might have been a way around it there, but nah. D'oh!

Old scopes are working fine
New scopes added after the Type-8 update are not working at all
The issue has been escalated internaly at Frontier, no ETA though

Upgraded a Manticore Intimidator shotgun and a Manticore Executioner sniper rifle to G5. Applied four mods to each including scope. All mods appear to work except the scope mod. Also acquired a G3 TK Aphelion rifle with Scope mod included from Pioneer Supplies but it only had the default mini-scope, not the upgraded one. Wrote to Frontier Support and was told "We are aware some players are having issues with some upgrades, such as the scope. This is currently under investigation, and is a known issue... We do not have a way of fixing this on our end, but as mentioned, we passed your details on so we can help resolve this in any way we can."
Since they could not fix at their end I assumed that meant I should try something at my end. So purchased and upgraded a new Intimidator shotgun to G5 and applied the scope mod as the first mod. Of course that did not work either.
So no scopes for me until this is fixed. But at least the engineering materials are much easier to come by since the T8 update and on-foot missions and combat are a lot of fun, even without the scopes.
I left my vote and reproduction details on the Issue Tracker. Please add a vote if you can.

I haven't heard of a single working scope generated in the game since the T-8 update so I'm pretty sure this is affecting more than just "some players" 🤨

Not noticed issues with any other mods, apart from engineers still charging the old price for some of them. Not a huge issue but I've had to make several annoying repeat trips to engineers, if you're working off Inara you'll need roughly double what it tells you. Seems dependent on weapon type, not engineer. Examples I've noted:
Headshot damage - kinetic & plasma
Improved hip fire accuracy - plasma
Greater range - plasma

A better take would be that it is a bug in the game code not something related to your account and connection to the game so it isn’t something they, support, can fix.

It’s only affecting some players as not all players have generated a scope since the bug happened, I haven’t been affected as I haven’t found the new scoped weapon I am casually looking for yet and haven’t bothered engineering anything on the on foot side.

When you find that scoped weapon you'll find it doesn't work, but if you'd found it pre-update, it would work, so you are literally affected by this bug. A bug affecting all players means all players can reproduce the same bug in the same circumstances. Which appears to be the case here. Which was my point. Obviously players who do different things will not experience the bugged thing, I really don't know what your point was there 😅

My point was that the bug isn’t being experienced by everyone, it does of course have the potential to be experienced by everyone playing Odyssey.

I have a pre-bug scoped weapon I don’t know if it is bugged or not as I haven’t used the scope since before the bug, if I find the weapon and scope I want before the bug is fixed then I will be a victim of it but that possibility hasn’t affected my search which remains as casual as ever.

This still seems to be an issue: built new Executioner with Scope Mod - mod is applied, materials consumed, but the scope remains the same as standard.
