Offer the cobra iv in the store!

They changed the deal on that once already by adjusting the eligibility time. We all agreed to them changing stuff when we ticked the EULA which is why they (rightly) didn't bother to consult the playerbase about Horizons going for free now.

Selling it in the store isn't really a serious proposition since they've always gone with cosmetics only and if you sell one ship people would want to buy others there. It sets a precedent with potential rear pain down the line like an exclusive ship.

Easier to roll it out to everyone, just like they have Horizons the DLC it was content for. Which they seem to be doing since the MK-IV featured in the promo. Plenty of ships to choose from, yet they went with that specific one.

Why make a change (to CIV availablility) at all though? Why not just do a different ship & make that exclusive too? Sell it in the shop even?

Forget the CIV, it's time has gone & anyone obsessing over the lack of access just can't accept the idea of exclusives. We could use more exclusive (non-meta) ships imo, just like we have loads of exclusive cosmetics.

Indeed.... I like the cobra IV I also like that FD actually updated the cockpit a bit (I know it just paint but still).... The only problem with it is that it is a cobra IV. This is the ship many of us fantasised over in the 1980s......the cobra was the jewel in the crown of ships and as such my expectation created a high bar.....
As a cobra mkIV it's not very good... As a cobra MKIII XL however it's great.
Yes. Truth be told, it was a massive let down, when I first flew it. The trucks in the Star-ports, were moving faster. But I adapted, my flying style and took a more relaxed approach, enjoying the scenery and marvelling at the speed of SRVs etc..

Oh gud. I was expressing the general opinion, of the 'have nots'. Who for some reason, think it is us 'haves' that are refusing to let the 'have nots' share our special ship. Like it is our fault, that F.D will not break the contract.

In the beginning, I shared your opinion, that it should not have been an exclusive and that it should be available to all, but after page upon page, of whining, bleating and most important, blaming us, for their misfortune. My opinion has swung the other way.

Indeed. I have it and to be honest, I couldn't care less if they decided to give people who have never played Elite at all a free copy of the base game, Horizons and the bloody Cobra Mk4. However I also couldn't care less if they decided not to give it to anybody. It's up to them, nothing to do with me.

Throwing a fit again and again for years because you can't have somebody else's digital toy and resorting to name calling is just as sad, don't you think?
I actually do have it... just not where I actually want to use it ;)

And I'm not sure if you were referring to me (since you quoted me here I feel I was the target), but I wasn't calling anybody any names..? Apologies if it was a general comment, and in that case yes I agree, resorting to name calling is just as childish.

That's the thing. It's not a big deal any way you slice it.

MK-IV owners are a minority most of whom don't give a monkeys either way, the ones who have it and think it should roam the void free for all are a smaller minority along with the ones who want it kept an exclusive.

The smallest minority is probably people who actually use it.

Worst case scenario a few people moan about it in the forum, which happens all the time anyway about everything. So nothing to lose.

How many actually care enough to want FDev to try to redefine 'forever'?

Just make a new exclusive ship imo. The CIV is old news, boring & a new one could be more useful.

I'm a bit like that with mine, looks good in outfitting and you can cram in all the bits you want plus an extra hardpoint up top so you think it's a step up as smaller ships go.

Doesn't do you much good when it's so easily outmaneuvered and you can't bring all that extra stuff to bear though. Even after being G5'd it feels sluggish.
