Rather mk III heavy, like someone already suggested.mk4a
Solved.
Fast enough for a material farmer/miner/small cargo runner. That was pretty fast... in 2015 before the Engineers. You know, like the real Cobra.![]()
Seems comparable to a Python. You don't use that because of ideal parking on some rocky worlds?Fast enough for a material farmer/miner/small cargo runner.
I've built a MK III when I was bored, even though I don't fly it, since I have the Python. Goes 615 max, and can jump 28.58 ly laden. Though when laden max speed is 596.The Mk III was a fantastic rares runner in 3301/2015. Out of morbid curiosity, I might see what it can manage today, but I don't like to dwell on it. Tears in the rain and all that.![]()
Ok I know what everyones thinking. Why offer the ship noone cares about anymore for sale in the store?
Honestly. People will buy it. Having the option to unlock the ship would be nice for those of us who were late to the party when preordering the game, myself included.
I collect ships ok, lots of them. I currently have 71 ships, and around 25 are fully engineered. Each has their own purpose and are housed at different ports around the bubble. But the fact that I dont have the preorder ship absolutely drives me nuts. I would like the option to unlock this ship, via in game unlock or purchasable in the store. If in the store it would make some nice pocket change at least for fdev. Or as an in game unlockable. The id rather drop $10 for it in arx. But thats just me.
Come on fdev. Help me out here. Let me complete my collection of ships.
That won't move the small hardpoints of it topside, won't add a 3rd and a total of 10 internals either. Here is the best idea ever, you can stop this discussion after it: Make a ship kit available for the Cobra Mk III that makes it look exactly like a Cobra Mk IV.
Sorted.

As well as several magnitudes more costly.Of course not. It's a ship kit. If people want more space in a ship, they should get a Python. Lovely upgrade to the Cobra Mk III.

For new players who are just getting their bearings, yes. Those are the players that would benefit from the Cobra IV the most.Credits are hard to earn again? Cool!

While I would tend to agree, it's the old players that got them, so the effect in game is negligible at best. For new players who are just getting their bearings, yes. Those are the players that would benefit from the Cobra IV the most.
Yep, that's exactly what I want to see changed. I want to see that ship in the hands of new players (and my other two accounts). We also didn't have Vultures and FdL at the start, but we wouldn't want to miss them. While I would tend to agree, it's the old players that got them, so the effect in game is negligible at best.
Bear in mind that we didn't have Cobra Mk IVs when starting out either, and making credits then took a lot longer, so I don't see an issue there.
Fair enough, but my point was that they're not really needed in the game. I'm not keen on exclusives, but it is what it is.Yep, that's exactly what I want to see changed. Yes.If they introduce a new ship for pre-ordering Odyssey, it should be the Type 8.
Just saying.

As long as they permanently remove the Cobra IV from all shipyards a week before they add boarding to prevent deliberate player trading in ships they shouldn't have, by letting each other steal them. Then they become even more exclusive, encouraging OPEN piracy with everyone ganking up on the beta backers..../snip
Is this feasible? Not really. FD may try to rectify this if possible, especially if Odyssey eventually implements ship boarding.
