planets don't shoot back when you launch probes at them

what are you going to cry about next, people getting arx from trading profits? Those don't shoot back at you either. It might surprise you to find that not every action in the game involves combat, not even the ones that earn arx.

But yeah, go off and pitch a fit at how someone might be rewarded with a fraction of a penny, up to a cap of like 30p a week, for farming materials off of skimmers.

If you could get tons of Arx doing something involving the best gameplay experience, nobody would support the game through purchase of cosmetics. This is a fair option for players coming from non-greedy devs. If you don't like it, or feel guilty about it because they can't shoot back, don't do it. You can still get a fair amount of weekly Arx with other methods. This is a nice move coming from devs who could adopt as said above an EA or CSGO lootbox strategy. Despite what you're saying I can't see a reason why the blame has to be put on devs here.
