Okaaay, pulsars are killers...... and a little glitch.

So I stacked up three passenger missions only two jumps away.
I didn't pay attention and forgot to check what kind of star there was after the first jump.....
Right, a pulsar or neutron whatever.
When I came out of hyperspace I instantly was caught in it's spiral and couldn't get out of it.
Boosting didn't help, I couldn't align my ship for neither a low or high wake, fa off, on, nothing got me out of the spinning.
Result......rebuy......
Luckily I was in my Python, costed me 6 million, if I was flying my brand new Conda it would have been about double that price.

Lesson learned, always check the systems your passing through when doing hops of more then one jump!!!!!

The glitch occurred after I rebought my Python, the soundfile of my Python falling to pieces in the neutron spiral kept playing, I jumped to another system, my ship kept shrieking and groaning all the way except in witchspace.
Save an exit and reloading didn't help, only after a hard reset of the Xb1 the sound was gone.......strange.

A white dwarf taught me that my ship can indeed run at 600% heat. [haha] Took a trip to one to check it out, and dropped out inside the spiral. Took all I had to get out of it, lol. The FSD sure didn't like being in there!

You got out of it?
There was no way I could escape the gravity of that spiral, I just kept tumbling around.
Yeah it gets pretty hot in there, especially when you're canopy bursts and your directly exposed, pfff there were still 23 of my 25 minutes oxygen left when I died.
It was an exhilarating and quite new experience to say the least.......
Keeps ED fresh:)

That's the bug. You can exit hyperspace right into the jet. OP, file a ticket with customer support and they can refund your lost credits. I just got mine today.

I can't imagine how many pilots and passengers died exiting hyperspace as they've been thrown into a star.

Ok, as it's a game.. pls FDev can we turn the NavBeacon exit in the other direction, i.e. keeping the destination star on our back???

Let's them burn our backs and not our face, thanks. :D

As far as I know (and I could be wrong) your exit point in a system depends on which direction/system you're coming from.
Can we get a confirm from a fdev?

Low waking back to SC you don't need to align your ship to any escape vector (unless you hit the exclusion zone - but you should throttle down to avoid that!), at least you wasn't that far out :)

I always throttle down during the countdown before jumping, I've done enough exploring and learned my lesson well.
When I tried to low wake out I got the message to align with the escape vector, I couldn't because I was tumbling all over the place.
My ship was completely out of controll no matter what I tried.
If this is a bug then I hope they fix this real soon, it's a certain death that you can't prevent from happening at all.

A ticket isn't necessary, I allready earned my rebuy back and the experience was quite exhilarating, I learned to always check the route I'm plotting and to give neutrons a wide berth, at least untill they fix it.

Fly save out there o7

Noob question!

What stars in the gal map filter is neutron stars so i know what to look for? Last week when joining a buddy for bounty hunting and testing ran into two of them for the first time, immediately slammed the breaks yelling *F no* and pulled an instant 180 degree turn before even trying to wake out, i refuse to even mess with those stars but after reading this i would like to avoid them altogether.

I keep forgetting to do this, but here's a great tip.

When preparing for Hyperspace, line up with the target, then before engaging FSD, turn Flight Assist OFF. When you jump, you will emerge at the next system (and every one on your route) with zero throttle.
Really helpful on those long journeys.... if you remember to do it :)

It is possible to escape (I took a video of my escape, it is somewhere in my activityfeed). I was trapped inside the jet after a server-connection loss.

First dont panic when your canopy begins to crack and crumble. Easy said, cause it is a horrible sound. Start a low-wake out while you tumble. When FSD is fully charged, full throttle and try to boost. In the moment you boost it is possible to align with trajectory. I made it out of the deathtrap with about 15% damage to every module in my AspX.

Didn't work yesterday, I tried it with both fa on and off.
I've been trapped before in my Cobra and was able to escape, yesterday I just couldn't point the nose in the right direction, I just kept tumbling around.
I'm not disgruntled about the loss of my ship, it was quite the experience, just not to often please:)

I believe it's non-sequenced stars.

With the new changes to filters you can deselect those and white dwarfs and apply the filter to your route so you can avoid them.

This is bad! Sorry for your loss, friend.
