Okay... BEST hands down multipurpose?

To be fair the thread is about the best multirole not which ships are viable multirole ships

However I don't agree that its ASP Explorer cobra and FAS, to me its ASP explorer and Keelback as the two best multirole ships with an Honourable mention to the Cobra IV

I was just replying to a comment someone else made about "viable" ships.

And my point was that the FAS is NOT a good multirole.

Your suggestions are good, but basically this boils down to the AspE rules.

For me I think it comes down to this,

The ASP Ex can be good at anything with a refit to suit the role you want it to have.

The Python can be good at all of the without having to refit. That's what you pay 5 times a much for!

Clipper: better cargo capacity than a T7, good armament, agile as hell, fast as hell. Only downsides are hardpoints placement and pad size. But you can outfit it to do whatever you want with its great internals.

I can't say it's the "BEST hands down" multipurpose ship, but I have to say I'm appreciating my Clipper a lot and I've been using it extensively for pretty much everything. It fight well enough to fight in Hazardous Res or High Conflict Zones, it's superb as a combat miner (which is pretty fun actually when you actually stay within the RES), has a lot of cargo, good jump range, is very easy to use a fuel scoop with, is blindingly fast and can outrun everything except for one ship (and only barely). The one single drawback is being unable to land on outposts, but it seriously never felt like a crippling flaw to me. The outrageous speed and great maneuvrability (as long as you put pips in engine during big turns) is super fun, and you have a lot of slots so you can easily have your ship setup with cargo, hangar, fuel scoop, a shield cell bank, an interdictor and the two exploration scanners at the same time.
