Does "Button Moon" count as sci-fi?

Tripods?
Tripods was generally panned at the time. My recollection is that it was drivel, but I think a few people liked it. The very poor reception resulted in something quite unusual for public service broadcasting - the show died a death early without resolution. Sadly we are now very used to shows inc SciFi getting canned thanks to America's network system, which produces one or two seasons of stuff that's promising and then cancels it for something else equally promising which will also likely get canned - Alphas, The Sarah Connor Chronicles, Dollhouse, Vegas, The Mob Doctor... the list is long.Tripods?
Yes. Awesome.Does "Button Moon" count as sci-fi?
I have Clangers DVDs. Nothing quite compares.Loved the Clangers.

Yes. Awesome.
.
The premise was clever. The route they forced it down, not so much, true. Also with regards to promising shows.... DOLLHOUSE??? Really???
Fringe would have been great if they had not lost sight of who was the lead. It had some excellent characters, and a great deal of scope with the parallel universe, which they did not explore as much as they could have. Fundamentally it lost its way because they did not accept Olivia as the lead proper, despite starting out that way.Equally I really enjoyed Fringe until its rushed and frankly bizaare but entertaining if you ignore the rest of the series prior. My brother hated it purely on its pathetic continuity (in scenes never mind plot).
Agreed, totally.Supernatural, is now going on two seasons too far... I mean introduce a grandfather and undermine it all... aaah I still love it, but it really is now Supernatural the Pantomime.
It might have found itself given time. It did not know what it was yet - SciFi drama, family quandary? - and didn't get the benefit of the doubt to find out.I loved Terra Nova - Great until its rush ending.
I hope it does. I hope for a soft reset - there's scope for it in the narrative.I love Defiance (poor series ending leaves me in doubt it will make it)
Ha. Torchwood is the "adult" spin, but not the mature one. The Sarah-Jane Adventures was for the primary school viewers, Dr Who is the family show (so is quite mature), but the only Torchwood season that can past muster and was pretty impressive was the second to last one.We need a GOOD proper sci fi please Mr BBC... Dr Who aside.. lets get a good un for us Adults... an not involving mr Barrowmans ****!.
Yeah! Space 1999! I remember having a couple of the die-cast models of the Eagle ship. Wish I'd hung on to those. Probably worth a fortune.![]()
Yes, I was quite enjoying that one.The BBC did Outcasts recently that they canned just as it was getting interesting. The first season had some ropey performances but the concept was quite good, but once again they mucked around with it's broadcast time and canned it just as it was getting into stride.
Instead we get given more reality rubbish and abysmal "comedy" shows. Have almost given up on wanting to watch TV these days.

According to the scandals recently, they've been fiddling with all sorts of things.Yep. I liked that too. Why oh why do the BBC keep messing with broadcast schedules. It happens time and time again.![]()
