ON FOOT MEGASHIP/CARRIER ASSAULT

could be the most exciting in team missions ever made, something like that:

mission available only within 2 factions in war:

ATTACK MISSION:

1-turn off megaship or carrier defense
2-then disembarkation from by Vultures on carrier/megaship landing pads: start firefight just like ON FOOT CZ. teams need to purge ship bridge from all enemy troops.
3-once cleaning the ship bridge you go down with the platforms, start another firefight in the hangars: with troops, barricade and also an SRV (which you can also steal from the enemy once the pilot is eliminated)
4-once freed hangars firefight continue in the megaship/carriers corridors: OBJECTIVE: to reach at the command bridge of the ship. once you have that one: END OF MISSION.

DEFEND MISSION:

the same but with the ship's defense troops, similar to defending containers in settlements: OBJECTIVE: eliminate all invasion troops before they get to the ship's command bridge

if ATTACK SUCCESFUL: for the winning faction> + INFLUENCE +BONDS, more than a normal CZ + some weapons/equipment steal from the enemy available for selling in the pioneer shop or in ships outfitting.
for the loser faction defending the ship> - INFLUENCE, some commodities and/or materials and/or outfitting modules lost + SHIP DAMAGES (the closer the attack gets to the bridge, the more damage and losses will be recorded)

if DEFENSE SUCCESFUL: the same for the winning faction + some weapons/equipment steal from the enemy available for selling in the pioneer shop.
if ATTACK FAIL: - INFLUENCE more than a normal CZ.

very cool options:
1-COULD BE doing in solo or team with different difficult levels
2-COULD BE placed as one fast strike mission in the CQC menu, as TEAM ATTACK (just like CoD or Counter Strike), so all players could be involved , just for fun aswell.
3-coul be very spectacular , both aesthetically and as playability, it would remind us of the assaults and firefights of Star Wars! imagine a FIREFIGHT on the MEGASHIP BRIDGE WITH ships flying and dogfighting all around!
 
I'm pretty sure there's scope for this, probably in areas/corridors of megaships/starports we haven't seen yet, engine rooms, reactor rooms etc.

Not sure Carrier's fall easily into this because, although owners can probably declare an allegience, they don't really form part of the BGS so would need some way to determine (maybe by using docking permissions / player faction / squad ally status chosen) if they're really part of the war or an independent within the system.

It could be a pain if you're a Horizons carrier owner too and find your engines have been disabled by a war you had no ability to do anything about. Pretty sure there's something in the OP though. +1
 
I really love this suggestion. We already got the elevators that teleport us from one playspace to the other. Therefore there wouldn't be the hurdle of connecting the on foot spaces in a megaship in a realistic way (they are just too huge to make them completely traversable). You could put an elevator there to connect the bridge with the crew deck for example, and use prefab corridors and rooms aligned in a procedural way for better variance.
 
Honestly I was hoping that Odyssey would have that on release, exploring megaships and fighting over them, it would have fit the game far better than ground combat and CZ's. Not saying there shouldn't be ground combat, but on a much lesser scale, the main combat areas should always have been in space in megaships or similar structures.
