On my seeming constant disconnect with "The Forum"

Many of the people complaining aren't complaining because their experience is making the game unplayable in terms of performance.
Their bar of what is acceptable at this point in the game's evolution is just apparently much higher than yours - which seems oddly low.
The framerate hit caused by the lack of occlusion culling and just unoptimized/bad render code gets my framarate down to 60 in places too, but 60 is about 50% too low. Could i play in it? sure, but it's nonsense to accept that. This game isn't pushing the boundaries of graphics technology...it's crap code doing this - and this was all well known to fdev when it was released and it makes ignoring feet and doing VR effectively broken anywhere but in open empty space (and that's only if you ignore the UI regressions).
i dont think the outrage is due to having a game that can't be played, it's being given a game that has no business being given to us for the money being paid to a game that's existed for this long. It's something i could accept if it were in early access days. Early access days are long gone. Players shouldn't be putting up with this kind of nonsense.
And what threat can we give other than that of withholding funds ? nothing else in the last 6 years seems to have worked. This is the first time that the playerbase is somewhat united. So i guess they can be proud of that.
I'm not trying to gaslight anyone. I'm simply pointing out that I always seem to be at odds with the groupthink of the forums. "They nerfed muh gamez!" I didn't notice. "OMG this is literally ruined!" I don't think so. "Game unplayable!!11!1!!1!eleven!!1!!" I seem to be playing it just fine?
I readily admit there are problems. I readily admit it's buggy....but I've been in game, playing nightly since launch. Hauled about 8k tonnes for the CG. Pilfered some ground settlements for suit engineering. Bought some Tritium. Mucked about in an on foot CZ. Maybe I'm just fortunate, I don't know. I just truly think that the overwhelming amount of vitriol is hyperbole...and therein lies my disconnect. I'm not hyperbolic.

I've played a lot of hours in Odyssey already, with a few enforced hours off when the servers were feeling antsy. Domeplenty of different things on both accounts and been having honest fun doing them.
This, of course, is not approved behaviour on the forum as one must hate the game, its developers and anyone elso who posts positively.
There are bugs, performance is nowhere near as good as Horizons, the 'new planetary tech' has some oddities too, but overall there is still a lot of 'good stuff' in the expansion that provides different gameplay to the basegame very well.
I'm guessing some people cant fathom how anyone else could be having a good time when they are not. It breaks their narrative?

I only found out about that function in this thread. Come to find out my game is routinely dropping into the 30's planetside and only topping out at 60 in supercruise...hanging around 45 in stations and terminals....and without "Ctrl F," I wouldn't even know that.
It's mob mentality, simply. Interestingly, some of those pouring hate on the game at these times also use the term sheep for those who enjoy the game despite the current level of bug infestation. However, they are themselves displaying the herd mentality.

Having a reason is not the same as having a good reason.
Something I learned, respect is not necessarily understanding. You can respect people without understanding them at all. I do that all the time IRL.
My experience is different. All the issues I have, from performance, to lack of balance and bugs are affecting my experience to the point I don't want to play anymore. Vitriol is bad. Downplaying other's experience because you don't share it is not a respectful thing to do either.
I'm doing nothing of the sort...and I am sorry that you're have difficulties. I hope it gets sorted soon.
Mostly these forums are full of negativity, but some posters rescue the day...

Always remember, on a forum, the vast majority want the same thing. The game to be the best possible. The actual troll who just don't care and like to see the world burn, are a very small minority.
That guy throwing vitriol ? He's got a thousand hour of play, and preordered the game. That guy crossing the line about the devs ? He do that because he is passionate about the game.
It doesn't excuse them, obviously, but everyone express their "grief" in a different way.
