On the censoring of ship names

I was recently made aware that the name of my fleet carrier "Untitled Space Craft" is being filtered by the game's naughty word list. Probably because "Untitled" contains the unmentionable letters "tango india tango" which is one of the famous words forbidden in US broadcasts and Elite forums.

Is there a way to appeal this filtering and have the word "Untitled" whitelisted? I can't be seen flying around in a "U*****T". Other Cmdrs might think me a prickett. That is so not on.

On another note, why is any squadron name containing "salvage" forbidden? Is there some lore stuff I'm not aware of?

Salvage contains "vage" which is a slang form for female genitalia?

How about dropping the word filter for Odyssey? It's higher rated, so wouldn't need as strict a filter anymore.

Maybe just rename your Carrier? Wouldn't "Unnamed Space Craft" do?

Btw, When I see "U*****T" as a name in game I don't think much about it. On the other hand when I see something like "Untitled Space Craft" I'm not exactly blown away by author's imagination.

That just wouldn't have the same ring to it. In my Other Space Game, "Untitled Space Craft" is usually the name of ships that reach new frontiers and milestones because hardly anyone changes the default.

That's probably it. Anything with "vag" in it doesn't work (tested "ZUEAVAGUZEF" vs "ZUEAVIGUZEF"). Thanks for the heads-up.

I wanted to give my Viper IV the ID "MANUS" but instead got "M****". Those filters are straight up silly.

If their filter is so mindlessly strict that even matching letters within a word cause the whole thing to be zapped imagine how many more will get restricted every time someone there adds a new "bad" word into it. Using an online word finder there over 1,000 words that contain "a--", 460+ with "t--", 100+ with "vag"... it's just stupid.

Put in a ticket. A few days later they will prolly white list your name. Well, unless it really is profane, sexist, racist, or whatever.
It censored the name "Tainted Love" on one of my ships. I put in a ticket asking for it to be whitelisted, and 3 or 4 days later is was no longer censored. YMMV
