It doesn't specify paid DLC, so I'd assume this refers to the already announced Update 13, Update 14 and Key Feature Overhaul, all of which are scheduled for the 2022-2023 financial year.

I didn't specify paid DLC either, Ian. But having Frontier confirm the plan for DLC during the FY does indicate that it isn't quite dead yet.
I'm afraid there's nothing new there that hasn't already been announced. As far as Fdev is concerned, each of our updates is considered DLC and we've got three left. ie. August, November and early 2023 (probably be march/april) and that will cover FY2023.Buried in their EOY financials...

The financial update specifically distinguishes PDLC (paid DLC) from the free sort in the JW2 section.
(That said, I'm sure ED will get at least one new cosmetic at some point in the next 12 months, which would satisfy "paid" too)

Odyssey is still a 'new DLC' by some metrics, which FDev will continue to sell in 2023.
I guess it depends on who's on the receiving end of these communications.
My guess is that "DLC" as a term will be acceptable enough without having to imply a paid for expansion, just like EDO had a less than stellar launch, due to connectivity issues.

On a stream last month they said there's something big coming, something that's never been done in Elite Dangerous before they can't tell us what that is. They're specifically mentioning new DLC coming for the game so am inclined to believe it's the "something never been done" before as opposed to "Here's another patch of bugfixes, lol"
