Ooooo, can't wait 'till tomorrow..

... Is it elite server o'clock yet?

Perhaps better to use UT then, as the C in UTC means coordinated, UTC wobbles and is not fixed, where UT is based upon atomic clocks, of course, by far the better and more logical choice would be barycentric time! :p

I do apologise, I'm more than a bit of a nerd, and this is my all time favourite subject!
Don't apologise, I'm well aware I'm not the most knowledgeable in the room, and am always happy to learn more. I appreciate the clarification of the "C", I didn't know that!

I'm off in the black at the moment poking bits of plants, so far away from the new ship and any sort of engineering materials. Looking forward to having at it when I get back though!
Same here. Will build myself a Python Mk2 for pew-pew when i get back.

Can’t see much of a use for the Type-8 for me unless I can make a decent miner out of it but looking at the modules I think the Mk1 Python is a better fit. I like the look of it though so might buy one anyway.

Metric time ftw.
Of course metric time, though useful, would be terribly flawed for certain precise uses. No matter which time base it is applied to. This is a wonderful parallel to the same problem that arrises in floating point numbers, the errors and imprecision that is inherent to the type.

But there is some pretty abstract computer science, math and philosophy behind all of that; Great subject though!

Addendum: Oh oops, that was really directed towards CMDR Daiyus!

Anyone know how long it takes for a new ship to show up on edsy/coriolis?
Usually, it would be much quicker than this, but I've had some personal issues to deal with lately. The Type 8 is now in Coriolis on the beta site. Please feel free to check the values (I don't have the ship myself yet) and let me know if they are correct or not. Once it's been running in beta for a few days, if no one sees any problems, I'll promote it to the main site.
