i know, i rarely make sense, even to myself.

honestly, i was just skim reading and assumed enough familiarity between you two. i pictured it has him asking you to play. and i wasn't questioning your civility, just encouraging you to play with him.

ok, i'll get my prothese now ...

So what you're saying is .... you like to watch.

It in not "Open season". Hunting carebears is poaching, and by doing it you make yourself a target for everyone who sees you.
Pledging to PP makes you a fair game for a large amount of people.

Open PvE can exist if your power over other's people property/ambitions is equal to risk their actions can bear to yours.

It's "open season" when the system by default allows for player-versus-player combat... for any reason, at any time.

Granted, some actions will make you a "wanted" criminal- but the system does not disallow it at any time, either.

Yes... "open season".

Has nothing to do with "risk" assessment... there's no proof that it increases nor decreases "risk" in an environment where just by your presence you're already "risking".

I just gave you the proof.

And it should not disallow it. Or there is no point doing anything in Open mode. Same as doing anything there without any reward.
And I said in which cases it can disallow it.

Disallow what? How do you disallow in a system which allows by default, without distinguishing the difference between the two cases?

Thus was my point regarding the question of consensual vs non-consensual PvP, btw.

There is a difference. And a big one.
There is a bunch of salt miners which attack everyone around CG area at the moment, and all of them are pledged to Pranav or whatever. And I had not see them attacking unpledged people around station.

Open PVE can exist Fdev just needs to make the mode, but sadly they most likely won't. As long as in Open others can attack others, then Open PVE cannot exist. There is always the threat, the shadow, the chance of PVP. Some people play their whole time in Open and PVE and never have run into PVP. I am envious of them, because myself and others would love to play like that. Yet you and others are waiting for one of us to blunder across you so that you can get your fix. You even pointed out that joining Open means I consent to PVP... that statement right there derails any "Open PVE" existing in Open

Did I say that it does exist at the moment? I said it can become existant only if you become cut off from PP and PFs BGS.

Yet another person who does not know what "proof" is /facepalm.

Proof isn't a post you made, that's your subjective opinion or hearsay.
Proof is "evidence" establishing "facts" or "truth" - your posts, your friends post, user made social media stuff is not proof of anything.
If you're going to claim to have proof, you should actually have some and not pass off your own posts as it.

What do you mean? I have to make some scientific experiments about the fact that pledging to a PP power does increase your profile?
I won't go further that just posting it. Blatant debunking and obfuscation of simple facts you people do here does not deserve better.

Uh oh, Edgelord, the use of the "O" word is not considered politically correct in this sub...

Making a claim, requires you to provide some evidence to support that claim.
You've made a claim without evidence. Claiming, your claim is the "proof" - which it isn't.

I can pledge to a power and not be "fair game" to anyone - anyone can prove this by pledging to a power and playing Solo.
Which completely destroys your claim that pledging makes people "fair game", as you cannot shoot a pledged person who is in Solo.

The simple fact is, you made a false claim.
As anyone can stay in Solo / PG when they pledge and never be a target for anyone else.
So pledging does not make you "fair game" as you claim.
Playing open makes you "fair game" - power play is irrelevant to that.

Nothing to do with being "politically correct" - it's about being factually correct.

Which your post highlights the point, you made a baseless claim and it was factually wrong.

like... what?... So I had said that you pledging to pp make ppl invade your solo indirect griefing?... Or your "block everyone" Open, which is not any different?

This thread was in "Suggestions and feature requests". Hence, it was a proposal to change the current state of things.
And you are providing plentiful proof on... details of current state of things. Great job.

The last time I used the O word in this thread I was told, and I quote "screw you buddy," so not such a baseless claim after all.
