I wasn't going to buy this game when I saw it would be online only. I can't stand PvP - I barely play chess any more, I stick to games like Pandemic or Pathfinder. I get no thrills from blowing up someone's spaceship. Some friends convinced me and I play in a group with them. I would love an open PvE mode. Building sand castles together is more fun. You want to kick things down? That's fine, I'll go play on another beach.
Of course, the market has shown us that I'm not alone - and if 6000 people have found their way to a barely advertised, gated community run by one guy, then the market is talking louder than any survey.
