Ship Builds & Load Outs Vulture Opinions on scout hunting build?

It's not really made for efficiency, just seems like it'd be fun to hunt scouts with. I'm new to thargoid combat in general but the Krait with ax multicannons was a bit boring.
I just wanted to see if anyone can spot some glaring issues I might have before I spend a bunch of materials to make it work. I'm mostly worried about heat but any opinions would be useful.

I was planning building something similar, so I'll keep an eye on this thread.

Maybe try a decontamination controller and cargo bay?

FYI you don't need AX weapons to hunt scouts. standard weapons work just fine.

before they added AX CZ I used to chase scouts in an all laser Keelback to train up my crew. :)

Did you try gauss cannons or similar fixed weapons (i.e., railguns) before so that you are comfortable using them? If not they are going to take some time getting used to. Heat may also become an issue because those gauss cannons are very good at generating it, particularly if you fire them in quick succession.

Since you already have a Krait II, a possible option would be putting the two gauss cannons in the medium hardpoints and keep two AX multicannon turrets on top together with a thermal vent beam laser turret. That way you can get your gauss cannon training in and it is more engaging than just hanging out having the turrets burn through the scouts, but still be sure that the scouts go down fairly quickly even if you miss. I used that configuration myself when I combined fixed weapon training with combat rank grinding. The hardpoint placement of the gauss cannons next to the cockpit is also amazing for visual effects.

I considered decontamination limpets but from what I've experienced so far silent running and a few boosts burn the caustic off pretty fast and the damage has been slow enough to ignore until combat is over. It might be worse in a vulture but the armor rating isn't too far from what i had in my Krait anyway.

I wouldn't have thought of using normal weapons at all honestly, I'm still looking to get some use out of the guardian stuff since I recently spent a whole day unlocking the last of it. The idea of a Keelback fighting thargoids is pretty amusing though.

I did have a gauss cannon on the Krait I was using and have had a little bit of experience with a twin PA vulture so I think I'll do alright landing hits, I remember vultures being extremely twitchy with a hotas but it should be good practice if i suck at least. I'll keep that in mind as my backup if this doesn't work out so well.

I think I'll give it a go once I gather what I need, even if I do have heat issues I'm sure i can find another use for the engineered stuff in the future.

I'm gonna tell you now, you're gonna overheat like a pig and you went way overboard on the G module reinforcement. You only need two.
There's a lot of major problems with this build.

Yeah that's why I asked, is there any way to make gauss viable on a vulture or should i just try something else?

Just fit out a well engineered combat build with normal weapons... go kill scouts all day long.... No need for guardian modules and weapons

I appreciate the input guys but I think I'm going to move to a Chieftain and copy the build from the AXI thread. Thanks for saving me from wasting a bunch of materials though. :)

I think that's a great idea
