I am another opinion, at least with the ungulates. And I do not know but since the Dingo we did not get any clone subspecies in a DLC.Better than a random ungulate or clone subspecie
Mexican Wolf really is a Wolf Subspecies whereas the Ethiopian Wolf is its own species (despite its name but the Maned Wolf also is Not a Wolf for example) which is more far related to the Wolf than Golden Jackal, Coyote or the Dhole.I'd rather the Mexican wolf personally but yeah why not. Any other kind of wolf beats the base game wolf.
Disagree. Besides a tanuki or bush dog there isn’t much variety left in canids that hasn’t already been represented in game. Meanwhile ungulates are a whole larger taxonomic group with tons of variety. Pigs, mouse deers, duikers, musk deer, gerenuk, Saiga, gaurs, caprids like takin or musk ox, cetaceans. Still so much diversity and this makes sense as you’re comparing a larger taxonomic group to a sub section of Carnivora.Better than a random ungulate or clone subspecie
With the Iberian Lynx, it also has the allure of representing the small/medium cat genre, which is poorly represented in game. I would prefer to get the Ocelot, Margay, Asian Golden Cat, etc., but I'd take the Iberian Lynx given it's uniqueness based on the current roster. If there was a similar discussion for the Iberian lynx on the basis of ZT theory then I would also reject it as well. While the Iberian lynx has a “greater” captive presence than the Ethiopian wolf, there are better felines to choose from.
I rather have an ocelot and I'm Spanish lol my sweet Iberian lynx missed its opportunity with the Europe packWith the Iberian Lynx, it also has the allure of representing the small/medium cat genre, which is poorly represented in game. I am not going to call the Iberian lynx a carbon copy of the Eurasian lynx but having two lynxes and a sand cat would be terrible if that’s all the small/medium cat representation we get by the end of the game. A second lynx should be the last thing we get over the other cats you mentioned plus fishing cat, serval, and etc.. Sometimes you have to think like an average Joe who can’t distinguish Iberian lynx from the Eurasian lynx, since those people are also buy this game as well. And I say this as someone who would want the bobcat but am aware that it won’t work out because of how similar it is to other lynxes in a average Joe’s perspective. With the Iberian Lynx, it also has the allure of representing the small/medium cat genre, which is poorly represented in game. Still I think a Bobcat or Canadian lynx would be better than the Iberian since it represents a different continent. And the Bobcat specifically is more unique as it tolerates hot weather.I am not going to call the Iberian lynx a carbon copy of the Eurasian lynx but having two lynxes and a sand cat would be terrible if that’s all the small/medium cat representation we get by the end of the game. I'm not so sure that Iberian would be a carbon copy of the Eurasian Lynx - size alone makes it unique. But I agree that we really should get at least a few other smaller cats before any potential Iberian Lynx should be considered.I am not going to call the Iberian lynx a carbon copy of the Eurasian lynx but having two lynxes and a sand cat would be terrible if that’s all the small/medium cat representation we get by the end of the game.
