optimal Engineered Shield Builds. Thoughts?

BI-WEAVE SHIELDS: Thermal Resistant (fast charge experimental)
SHIELD BOOSTERS: Resistances Augmented (Thermo Block experimental)
SHIELD CELLS: Rapid Charge (Recycling Cell experimental)

PRISMATIC SHIELDS: Reinforced (Hi-Cap Experimental)
SHIELD BOOSTERS: Heavy Duty (Super Capacitors Experimental)
SHIELD CELLS: Rapid Charge (Recycling Cell experimental)

Generally in either case a mix of Resistant and Heavy Duty shield boosters will work better. Thermal Resist Prismatic is also an option.

Depends what you're expecting to be fighting, of course.

Your first mistake is not mixing shield boosters. For both builds you should have 3 boosters dedicated to resistance and the rest heavy duty.

Second mistake is putting thermo block on the biweave's boosters. You should have force block.

As for the secondaries on the biweave shield generator, it depends on what ship you have. Sometimes low-draw is better than fast charge because the shield is already able to charge faster than the ship's capacitor can provide it with energy, so low draw is better because it makes that energy go farther.

Personal Opinion through experience:

Prismatic's are good, but I find their value diminishes after grade 6... so, great for trading in the big's but for combat, regular and bi-weave make more sense.

Engineering: I'd go reinforced in the bigs and thermal in the mid to smalls.

SBs: I usually follow the two to one HD:Resistance rule as HD stack with no diminishing returns.

SCB: don't really use them as I choose to bolt before that is an issue (I pilot a Cutter), and found HRP's to be more beneficial in the "Oh Crap" moments.

Last, I use to roll Prismatics a lot, and I've found after engineers that they're not worth the power draw and added weight... I'd take a regular or Bi-weave (engineered) over a Prismatic (engineered) in nearly every scenario... but that's just me balancing performance, loadout, and playstyle...

Bi weave, thermal mod, fast charge
Equal amount of resistance augmented and heavy duty shield boosters is my way

I usually run reinforced bi weave, with 2 resist boosters and as many heavy duty boosters as I can get, using high-cap/super capacitor experimentals on as many as I can without falling below 30% thermal resistance. If I do fall below 30%, I run thermo block on as few shield boosters as I need to reach it.

With kinetic meta, having really high kinetic resistance will serve you way better than 50% resist to all, and kinetic has way higher burst potential than thermal anyway, so there is no reason to overdo it on the thermal.
