Optional Custom Support Placement!

I think this has been suggested before but I really want to reiterate. We need, need, need (optional) custom support placement.
For those who just want to build a coaster, they don't have to do a thing, supports will auto generate. But if you're someone like me who doesn't want to see hovering track, this is a must have.

Have a building below your coaster track? Attach a support manually to the roof! Path in the way, with nothing beside the path? Attach a support diagonally down to the empty area beside it!
For situations where the support doesn't go directly down we'll probably need it to automatically detect that and change the type of support so it doesn't look unrealistic.

Perhaps we could also attach supports to ceilings if we're running a coaster through a building that has paths on the floor (or other reasons the supports can't go straight down)?
I'm not sure how placing custom supports would work but as it would be entirely optional, having it be slightly complicated so you can do more with it wouldn't be so bad, right?

Maybe custom support placement could allow you to place it anywhere. Just bordering on the inside of a flat ride, as long as the support tube doesn't collide with the ride itself, of course.
On the inner edges of paths? Queues, if they're wide enough? Basically anywhere it wouldn't get in the way of guests.
Even into foliage. Maybe not trees, for obvious reasons.

Going even further you might want duelling coasters. Maybe one of them removes the supports of the other. Perhaps in that situation you could attach the supports of one coaster to the supports of another?

I understand why some people might be against it but if it's entirely optional and doesn't affect the auto generation of supports in any way, I think it'd be fine.

What does everyone else think?

I agree. The game is already pretty clever about how the supports attach to rail, and "find" their way to the ground.
I think that could be expanded a bit more, in that you could be able to click on a piece of track, then click another button (which might be used by other features), which shows every track "node".
You could then select them individually, (right now, the game only lets you manipulate the end nodes of track segments you have placed with a certain length), then click another button "attach support".
Then click somewhere on the terrain, or a building, and the support would adjust the way it is attached to the track automatically, depending on the angle you are creating. It could also possible create mirrored supports that way, for example if youre pointing from the top of a loop downwards. If you are not satisfied with the angle, hit cancel, select another node, try again, until it draws a support that pleases your aesthetic demand.

I suspect that this thread is being ignored in favour of the other threads about supports, which have a lot more posts.

Also since they have announced they are making changes to how the supports are going to work I'm in a wait to see how it looks mode.

Are they older or newer than the post I made? I thought I searched when I originally posted this...

Your post is pretty old. Don't know if the others are older, but if your's was missed and others have a conversation people will probably stay with the others.

As far as your concern. I don't really feel the need except I would like to move one if during the coaster cam a support would decapitate a peep.

Yes, I agree with this. I'm sure the default system will be fine for most people, especially as they are working on it, but we do need to be able to move the supports that are in the way, and make the ride less fatal.
