Horizons Orrere 2B Crashed Anaconda

For those that are looking for rare materials and remember the crashed Anaconda, DO NOT APPROACH IT
Graphics are all messed up. You will not be able to do anything. Your SRV will read the Cargo Bay Doors
but it is impossible to do anything at the site. Terrains in different planes, stars at the bottom, sand on top,
Graphics totally fractured

Thanks Commander Bernie for letting us know. Maybe, Fdev could fix this?

[ Helas! Woe, woe, woe..... All that nice Tellurium and Antimony. There go my power plants and shield boosters. Woe, woe, woe.......... sob, sob,sob .... Slange self-flagellates . ... woe]

An alternative: Visit the lava spouts at Upsilon Phoenicis (marked by a tourist beacon) and use a SRV to shoot the crystalline formations there. You'll get Zinc and Arsenic from crystalline fragment formations, Crystalline Cluster formations give Tin and Cadmium, and you get Ruthenium from Needle Crystal formations. Piceous Cobble-formations will give carbon, sulphur and other low-grade materials.

Note that this is not a complete material listing, see the planet's material readout for that.

I also visited the crashed Anaconda at Orrere 2B, and it works fine for me, nothing wrong with the terrain - steep as ever, but no bugs that I could find.

Check your graphics drivers, they may need an update, worth a go at the very least.

Back to the site and ALL IS WELL. crashed Anaconda ON SITE, it seems thou that it's been nerfed a little. After every shot we used to get 3 or 4 canisters, now you get only one or two. Still, very nice of Frontier to leave it in place

Went there last night. The Anaconda has been replaced with a crashed Federal Navy viper. No cargo to be had.

Also nearby is a defence turret protected surface mining operation. Only thing there was one shield emitter.

i landed 5Km away from it . and trying to get there my SRV was INSANE... HUGE cliffs and i couldn't even see the ground, was relying 100% on my instruments had to repair twice lol

Thanks Commander for the report. That is one of the places I would have very much wanted to eventually revisit....

Cry. That Anaconda was a godsend for me. Not only could I stock up on Antimony, Tungsten, Tellurium, and Ruthenium. But I also learned to drive the SRV in less then optimal conditions and to ever more quickly travel to destinations using the current Lat/Long tools. All because my pysche said the rewards were worth the effort, i.e., the benefits outweigh the costs. Well, that has nailed the coffin for my playing for now. Hopefully in the future new mechanics will be introduced.

I, and I think some other Commanders, do not enjoy roaming around planets in a bouncy srv shooting at rocks. Mindless busywork for rng results. In comparison, I now much prefer doing long neglected housework, busywork with guaranteed results. Due to boredom, I stopped playing Elite, but peruse the forums because I love the concept of Elite Dangerous and because I love the Commanders who play it and am interested in their thoughts..... and trials. Needless to say, our house is finally getting cleaned and I may even venture to do some actual landscaping and maybe renovation! As a 52-year-old somewhat old fashioned woman I was really scared of chainsaws. We have some little trees that need to be removed because they eventually will be a safety hazard. And we have lots of trees that need pruning. I was spending 10-15 hours a week playing Elite. At first it was a blast, then after 800 hours the boredom set. But I played another 200 hours anyway. Then I looked at our backyard. Then I looked at my current personal Elite game play experience . NO. I will not spend my precious time compulsively grinding. So I bucked up and learned about chainsaw usage and most importantly chainsaw safety. I am not scared anymore. Knowledge dispels fear. There are positives to every situation. Society says video games are supposed to be fun and housework boring. Happily, I have learned otherwise; many others will disagree. It's all relative.

Interesting first post. Screenshots?

Can confirm it's still there too...

No screencaps but I was there. I'll go there again to verify. Strange.

Did anyone else see a mining operation nearby with defence turrets?

If the Anaconda is still there, then there's a crashed Viper nearby, too ... I'll try and post some screenshots when I go there again.

You sure you weren't on the other side of the Planet?

Not trying to be a smarthead, I genuinely did that on my first visit 'cos I didn't pay attention to the (-) on the Latitude... Funnily enough, there was a Viper nearby with a Mining station in the general area (but not exact coordinates). Super weird coincidence 'cos I thought they were random spawn POIs.

I went there once, never again. Don't know if it's permanently on the dark side but couldn't see a thing. In making the dark side darker have they made the SRV lights weaker too? And I had managed to find a landing spot very close by as well. I was told I could find Antimony there but there were only 5-8 gold canisters, SRV max 2 limit, even across that short distance I gave up and left.

Talking of graphics issues I had it once, when I landed on HIP 17862 6ca to collect sensor fragments, landed very close to the Thargoid wreck but on dropping down in the SRV I went through the planet and after that it was pretty much terrible no matter where I drove. Took off again landed further away and had no problem. Perhaps it's the initial point on contact that might be the issue and the drop down in the SRV? Oh I have seen the floating rocks recently as well. Graphics up to date etc..
