Overly Cautious Python Cmdr

I rarely go into Open, so hollow squares are rarely a concern for me.
And on the off chance I am in Open and concerned, it only takes a second to switch over to a less hostile mode.

I had a courier Interdict me at a CG a while back, when i was in my mission running Python.

It annoyed him rather alot that he couldn't stop me. Lol

If a single ship is after you, and it's smaller, there is literally nothing they can do to stop you escaping.
Don't Panic. Submit. low wake. They rarely try twice. Lol

Barely never. Its like people screaming that the worlds about to break due to terrorism when terrorism is at its lowest level in decades.

People scare mongering about Open are usually players that don't play in Open. Over the weekend i went to the CG to test the theory that Open is full of rabid crazy greifer gankers; so i set off in my shieldless clipper and did 4 runs of reactive armor.

Nothing, zip, zilch, nada, nothing, no one interested.

I figured maybe they thought a Clipper wasn't worth the hassle, so i did the same thing, 4 more runs, in my shield less T7. Guess what....Same outcome.

Getting ganked in Open is a rarity, but the people who do fall victim are the ones that shout loudest.

I'm paranoid when I see a shieldless Clipper. I fly clippers because its my favorite ship in the game but once I got interdicted by a commander in a clipper with no shields. I though it would be easy but it was a pure hull tank running nothing but heat sinks, hull reinforcement, and projectile weapons. He roasted me in a couple of minutes and due to the nature of his stealth ship it was close to impossible to fight back. That is my experience with shieldless Clippers and they can be scary when used right.[blah] That and your point is valid as I have only been interdicted around 5 times in my 400 hours of open play.

I doubt this statement would be of consolation to PC Keith Palmer, Aysha Frade & Kurt Cochran's families.

But its still true. So while the friends and relatives of these people have all the right to scream as they want, the rest of the world needs to pipe down and focus on stuff that is way easier to fix and does way more damage to society. :)

I've been overly cautious on my conda before.

Left Jameson Memorial, and I see a hollow square behind me turn into a hollow triangle.

I proceeded to heat sink and jump away as fast as possible.

You lucky *********, when I was 300 hours in, I had been attacked a thousand times, died seven hundred times...
Na you have it easy these days..

Cheers Cmdr's

Yeah, back when the gravity well was uphill both ways and real men didnt need life support, we just held our breath till the mission was over.
Kids have it so easy these days.

Why is everyone so paranoid?

Hollow Square.
90 degree turn out of shipping lane.
Rx Comms: "Sorry."
Tx Comms: "What for?"
Interdiction.
Pew pew.
Rebuy.

You only need to have it happen a couple of times and high wake / low wake / log become favoured options.
Personally I've always been about survivability and "Hollow Squares" is a high alert call.
I'm working towards implementing some of the techniques featured here by Massive D.
But the engineering is taking a toll on my ability to be of service to the Alliance.

Would you kindly stop spamming this all over the place? Gets old. Also, read the OP. The OP didn't have the scramble to high wake, someone else did. This doesn't apply to him or this thread.

BTW is anyone in Imperial space?

700/day in our Power HQ, but yeah the overall trade traffic that once roamed everywhere has gone down, and in general we've entered the pre-patch lull period so I think there's less Commanders to find.

When I started the game, I've done like 1 mission and than flew to Imperial space. I worked for Federation in FFE so I wanted to try the Empire in ED. Always in the open. My first encounter with a commander was after some 3 monhts of playing, perhaps half a week game time. I was very surprised to see a human and grew a habbit to say at least Hi or something when seeing another cmdr. Well, stopped doing it after some mate in Sol aske me if I am mentaly healthy :)

Clipper is also my fav ship, love that thing :D. People dismiss it because of its shields but like you say, that things hull <3

Like social media :D.

Bit confused by the point of this response..? Its not like im condoning what happened, its disgusting, but facts are facts.

I could point out that statistically air travel is the safest way to travel, that statement might not be any condolence to anyone who's ever lost a friend/relative in an air crash but its still a fact.

I was using the statistic to make a point about scare mongering, lets not get in to a discussion about RL events :).
