OvrDrop - Anyone use?

I'm curious how much this might impact my VR performance?

If you're on Oculus, just use dash.

I'm not. Windows Mixed Reality (via SteamVR).

I got it to work well on WMR, but on my computer system I suspect it'll be most useful on long exploration trips. (using a 970 graphics card, so there is a small but noticeable hit on performance in VR, but that's less important on long trips)

Yeah, I watched tribals video and bought ovrdrop on back of his enthusiasm. However I'm having a problem. When I launch netflix, the elite dangerous window is moved to the background and this seems to cause my joystick to stop responding. There must be a simple fix for this!!

I made a autohotkey script that fixes this when having a browser. So I just press F1 and then the overlay gets visible and the browser window gets focus, with a visible mouse and all. Another press on F1 moves me back to elite focus and removes the overlay. This is when using OpenVRDesktopDisplayPortal butthat is basically the same as OVRDrop

If on vive or vive pro use https://github.com/Hotrian/OpenVRDesktopDisplayPortal. It is free and works very well.

OpenVRDesktopDisplayPortal is now OVRdrop! The new version only supports Windows 8 or above, but is now GPU accelerated and capable of capturing in 1440p and above at 60+ FPS. A number of new features have been added, including an additional VR overlay that lets you switch target Applications as well as full monitor capture support and more, but the most significant change between this version and the Steam version is the capture method.

OVRdrop is now on Steam!

You can also set it so a certain window is always on top, so I have it that my browser is on top and what I'm seeing on my screen, then click to my Elite icon so that my joystick works again without the display taking up the screen.

I actually reduce rendering frequence to 24 fps or even lower to save render time. OpenVRDesktopDisplayPortal works fine in windows 10.

Tried it, refunded it.

It was draining way too much performance from my that the gameplay was not smooth anymore. I have oculus so I use das, with one button i switch its not the same as flying and watching youtube tho
