Painite Mining Questions?

1. Where is there a pristine double painite hotspot in or near the bubble for laser mining?
2. Is it worth putting deep core mining equipment on a painite mining conda or just mine ordinary asteroids?
3. My friend needs to unlock Selene Jean, is there any way I can help speed this up?

I’m on my phone at the moment but Reddit has a mining page with double Painite hotspot locations in the Bubble.

You can take DC gear but frankly it’s quicker to just laser and move on but there’s no reason at why not.

As to question three, you may be able to shoot rocks and let your friend pick them up but I don’t know if that definitely works.

3.: Mining in a wing improves the yield of the asteroids, so you’ll spend less time moving.
Also the requirement is 500t refined, so you can mine anything, and throw away the useless stuff
You could give him the 10t Painite, but with hotspots, this is trivially to mine.

500T of any ore has to go through his refinery. Go to a painite double hotspot using the tool above with a conventional mining ship - no abrasion blasters or deep core stuff. Collect everything, then eject (abandon) everything that appears in the cargo hold except painite. That will take about an hour depending which ship they use and how many collector limpets it has.

If your friend is a beginner, he/she can start using a Sidewinder picking up just the painite fragments. One 30 minute trip will get enough for a T6, and one trip in that will get enough for a T7. One trip in that will get enough for a T9, which will get them to elite trader billionaire in another few hours to get access to Shinrarta Dezrah and all the ships and outfitting there. With a following wind, you can become an Elite billionaire and unlock Selene in a single session of play from starting a new commander.
Obviously, once 500T has been through the refinery, you can put all the fragments except painite on the ignore list.

Re 2 - you probably already know this, but just in case anyone doesn't: you still need prospector limpets. You get more stuff out of a prospected rock (plus it saves you mining rocks that are worthless).

Basically, for purely painite mining, you need mining lasers, prospectors, collectors, and cargo space. Nothing else.

"Credits are worthless"
"Sure... if all you care about is credits"
"I couldn't care less about credits"

Fleet Carriers...

"Hey tell me about that Painite mining"
"What's the best way to make a lot of credits?"

j/k

Me and Painite mining:

"Oh... I think I'll mine Panite.. "
Goes to Google.com.. "double painite hotspots"
First results is a reddit thread of double painite hotspots"
I select the 1st one
Go there
Mine 400 units of painite using lasers, probably less than 2 hours. Many rocks pure painite.

A lot of collector controllers. Sacrifice cargo space for controllers. You can sit there waiting 2x as long for 6 limpets to gather the fragments or you can use 12 limpets and be done in half the time, and come back for more. There's a tradeoff, but I find the Anaconda good for it since it has a lot of slots.

Remember those threads right after the mining update about how Opal payouts were unbalanced and it wasn't worth mining anything else?

Mmm Painite. :)

Deep core mining equipment can slightly increase outcome of "regular" mining if you have enough free hardpoints. And as you are mining in Anaconda -- I guess you don't use 8 mining lasers simultaneously :) So, you can install those pew-pew blasters and mine every single asteroid as before, but get a few tons more if you meet ones with surface and subsurface deposits, or dozen of tons more from the ones with core deposits.
