And this is highlights my main reason for wanting the Panther; it IS a stepping stone in terms of a pure cargo ship between the T9 and a Carrier.
I'd love a carrier, but given its price and maintenance costs, it's just out of my reach in terms of hours required to earn the credits needed.

Yes, there is the Cutter, but it's a multi-purpose ship rather than a pure cargo hauler. The Panther, even at only 1000t, would give twice the capacity of a T9 and therefore (roughly) half the time required to earn the same amount of credits from trading. As a trader, THAT'S what I'm after.

I don't mind a bit of grinding, but with the T9 you're talking 250hrs of cargo runs to get to 5 Billion, at MINIMUM! That's a massive amount of time!

A few points here ... "Stepping stone between a Type-9 and a Carrier" so is it able to dock at a station or not? To be bigger in cargo size than a Cutter, you're pretty much asking for a brick the size of a large landing pad.

I'm still not seeing a good justification to have a Panther Clipper.

Yup, exactly. Bricks are beautiful!
The FE2 Panther could be docked at the station, that's what I'm expecting.

My bad, however with a shield you're really limited to ~750t of usable space. In any case, I'll revise my PC 'minimum' usable cargo space to 1500t.

I'm interested in trading, not in mining (plus, I believe mining has been somewhat nerfed now).

Honestly if I was FDev I would be terrified to release the PC. It's been hyped for so long and so many people have their own expectations about what it's supposed to be that no matter what FDev does they are going to disappoint alot of people.

Of course they will disappoint! They'll short the modules and hardpoints but I just want it! I love the design!

We just need more designs...I'm jaded looking at anacondas and kraits, asps and pythons.

Ship kits could alleviate this problem but most of the pieces are poor developed and few!

Odyssey should double the ships then go back and flesh the low poly count up on existing ones?

Yeah I just want the LX because it looks cool. I really dont give a toss it its the "bestest ship evar". I didnt care when the Type 9 sucked and Im not going to care now.
