Parades, Park Events, Emergency Events, and Guest Events

At theme parks they have quite a bit of events. Parades, musical shows, huge themed areas dedicated to various events. I'd like to see parades added, or other player controlled events you can have. With how large you can make roads, I don't see why we couldn't set up a parade route, and then set up a time for a parade to start Things like these "events" that can be player controlled, can boost your park rating.

Park Events
--------------------------
Parades
-Player controls parade path, which can only be allowed on large path sizes.
-Players can create their own "parade" line up: mascots, vehicles, displays
-Could be preset floats
-Boosts park rating/happiness levels
-Set time of day you wish the parade to start
-Perhaps a rabbit-hole type "start" and "finish" area where the parade starts from, and ends. Like a door-like opening, and ending for your event to come out of.
-Random animation displays during parades, such as mascots tripping, cheering, dancing
-Parade Colors for lights/theme
-Parade Music

Player designed areas such seating for random musicians.
-Maybe Guests can pay and sign up to perform
-Guest interaction- boos, cheers, claps

Firework Shows
-Perhaps option to have an "auto" version, or a create your own version for the firework show
-time to start/finish the firework show

Seasonal Events
-Events made by the user, so there is an option to have them or not.
-Can set up a calendar to choose when the event starts/finishes
-Vendors can set up Decorations for those specific events
-Valentines Day, Easter, Winter Holiday Theme, Halloween
-Create your own Event with "theme colors, lights, etc" and set time of year it starts/ends

Emergency/Weather Events
--------------------------
Emergency Stops

Safety Checks
Certain times of the week, ride isn't operable and needs to run various safety checks

Lights out!
-At night, Lights could burn out, decreasing guest happiness and must be repaired by repairman.

Weather Events
Snow!
-paths need to be cleared of snow otherwise they block off visitors.
-Can be prevented with overhead path covers.
-Once plowed, stays plowed for a few days.
Wind!
-guests get blown over.
-Trees sway in the wind
-Trees can fall, making rides inoperable or paths un-passable.
Thunderstorms!
-Guests can be hit with thunder turning into a fried guest with crazy hair and soot all over them. (needs medical attention)
-Rides can be struck with lightning and stop working.
Rain!
Everything is slippery! Guests can slip and fall while walking on the side walk. (need medical)
Kids can jump in puddles, increasing children happiness decreasing adult anger.
Guests happy under roofs and other overhead structures.

Growing scenery
-Gardener needed else plants gets unkempt and over grown
-Topiary's turn into like just messy bushes
-Trees get oversized and can interfere with rides

Guest Events
--------------------------
Guests randomly drop/lose items, like accidentally dropping their ice cream cones, losing the hat they bought
Guest Sickness
Lost group members (need to contact an officer to find their family)
Guest injuries (need to go to a medical wing)
Guest Cleanliness (trash cans needed etc)
Guest Tired Ratings (need to sit down)

Kids Crying
-Maybe if an employee sees they can be given a free balloon

Grumpy Guests
-These guests could yell at employees which lower employee happiness rating

Guest Interactions
-Guests talking to other people outside of their own group when they're standing around, waiting in line, sitting on benches(whenever this is introduced)

Word of Mouth
If a guest rides a ride and is terrified of it, they could tell someone else in the park which could result in them being too scared to ride it.
Or if a guest has a great time riding it, they could tell someone and that person would drop everything and instantly want to ride it.

I'm 100% behind this post!

One of my favourite features of RCT3 was firework displays. With your suggestion of Weather/Emergency events, I guess you could create shortened versions of the same show and set them to play if certain weather types are active? Same with parades etc.

Parades are one of the main selling points for me to visit Walt Disney Parks. It's an absolute must, something I'd love to see in the game eventually.

Oddly, the same sort of things has occurred to me.
.
today I was playing with the Coaster designer and wondered....
How bad coaster design would be punished. Or poorly chosen ride cars.
Can we expect to see guests with whiplash, or blackouts, or of course everyone's favorite.. Vomiting.. .. Or guests not making it to the exit at all having been thrown from the ride because of bad track design, or wrong restraint choices.

I totally agree with the OPs ideas. fantastic stuff. Just the kind of things one would expect from a simulator.
Lets see how the game develops!?. :)

+1 for the parades. This would need a "road" rather than a path. Picture Main Street USA in a Disney Park, with the "road" placed central, suitable for transport vehicles and parades, with a path either side for peeps when the road is in use. :)

These are great ideas! I hope parades and fireworks as well as concerts are all in one expansion later on. I hope we see coaster crashes that could be caused by the weather, they also hurt your reputation.

Yes that was a pretty big list of ideas and I am sure Frontier will have some of them on their ideas list. Maybe Parades will come as an expansion pack and may not be programmed into the first release of the game. I think if something is possible, Frontier will include it at some stage in the build, but don't expect everything in the first release. Frontier are taking this game to new levels and have a long term future for the development of Planet Coaster.

Honestly, I think reputation would be an amazing thing to have to work to build. I remember playing various roller coaster tycoons and never really needing to advertise my park. If you had a reputation that was poor you'd really have to consider different ways to bring people into your park.

These are great ideas! Aside from snow which I think would be too difficult to implement and bothersome to deal with, I'd love to see all these implemented especially parades

I think those are awesome ideas..

For the Parades, the base floats could be pre-loaded, but why could we not build on top of them the way we do with the new modular building set up. Think of the opportunities for awesome custom-made parade floats with the same ability to light them like the buildings...

Snow is very interesting as well. In RCT3 you had the possibility to create snow/lightnings/storm and much more with the enhanced firework editor. You can integrate such a tool and all of us (espacially the advanced users) can create many, many, many weather effects, all we want.[up]

I hate asking this and sounding dumb.. but where is this coaster designer you speak of the "coasters" tab shows coming soon. All I have are a handful of flat rides and pirate theme building materials.. etc. Am I really missing a coaster tool? Alpha would be a whole lot more fun with a coaster designer. lol.

If they add a more intense emergency system compared to RTC3, there also could be an option to change how often emergencies, due to weather and other outside effects, happen while keeping the standard park maintenance the same.
Similar to the Sims where you could lessen the likely hood of a sim having random deaths.

Also
wouldn't it be even cooler if you could project a show or something on a building like the disney nighttime show?
Project shows would be the best. I hope we can add to floats and things of that nature like mentioned in the posts above.
Having a basic "design" for the cars, and then being able to add stuff onto the car similar to the current build system to make some custom floats!

Night time shows would be amazing.

I know its a tiny tiny part of what would be a massive feature set, but I would like to be able to set a designated audience area for the night time show, where people would gather. Then at the beginning of the show (or even as a timed queue within the show, so it fit with music) the architecural lights around the area dim or switch off (a la Disney's Main Street USA going dark ready for the Main Street Electrical Parade, and the Wishes shows etc)
