Yeah since the Xbox is getting involved and that mean lots and lots of instant satisfaction I think we can forget getting any thing meaningful for this game for a year or more now. This whole project is just getting so depressing. After a wonderful start its just going nowhere fast now, so much promise and nothing to follow it up. I am personally just getting really fed up with this whole game now. Its, like, how to ruin a classic franchise. We have nothing but instant action minimum immersion online games these days and now i see one of my favourite games, a game I have been waiting for for 15 years - slowly but surely turning into a thing I hate and never ever play. Its very very sad.
They havent got anywhere near producing a decent game yet and already they are developing it for the next platform. And what after that - crafting most probably, and then owning stations and fleets.
I wish I could write something positive on these boards but I just dont see anything positive from the way this game is going, they just havent added anything I want to play into this game over the whole of the last 4 months. Inf act compared to what I was playing in early standard Beta the present experience is not even half as good except for the increase in ships.
I was one of the early voices for encouraging younger people to get into this game like I got into Frontier years ago. But I meant by that encouraging them to play through great immersive gameplay that rises above the sorts of games they have got used to on Steam. I didnt mean lowing the standard of this game down to that level of instant gratification, arena battles and typical online gameplay. Oh well. Meh. Whats the use. David Braben has a vision and he will turn this into whatever that is but I think I am starting to realise that he and I are vast poles apart.
