PC2 - Themes Wishlist

Themes Idea:
  • Pirates (Everyone started with pirate theme since Alpha 1)
  • 1920s (It's a jazz thing)
  • Victorian
  • Sweets (Chocoleit Cake)
  • Jurassic park/world (Dinos)
  • Sounds Of Tokyo (Japan)

Pirates, spooky and western really should be in from the start as they always have been.

Pirates for vikings is an acceptable trade but it's going to be disappointing not to have the latter two from the get go.

And some kind of fantasy/fairytale. I suppose mythology is supposed to be equivalent and I haven't seen it yet, but I don't think it is. It's not usually a theme used for younger children for example.

I'd love to see reimagined sets for Pirates,Fairytale,Western and Scifi Theme.Maybe in a similar manner to how Worlds Fair explored a lot of scenery options and little rides? For the spooky set I'd imagine it being part of a new darkride pack with omnimovers and other cool darkride options. Other than that I'd welcome any new set rlly. The adventure set could dive into mayan architecture for example.

Days later and I still think a Skateparks DLC would work really nicely. Creating empty pool layouts and modular building of mini-ramp and half-pipe parks. With skateboards, scooters and BMX's from the Inflatables shop. Sports shop! :p

Edit: Sorry, this isn't the DLC thread is it

Actually I really loved the worlds fair pack, with all those different international designs and building pieces. I really hope to see anything like that again. The only issue I had with this pack was that the wall pieces never were complete. In Planet Zoo all new wall sets are fully usable with the same amount of pieces.
Other than that I‘d also move to see the following themes:
  • Fairytale / Mystic
  • Retro / Vintage / Classic
  • Horror / Spooky
  • Space
  • Movies / Studios
  • Steampunk

So do you think there will be a western theme with the release because the one new entertainer, Saguaro Guitaro - being a guitar playing cactus, is making me think a western/desert inspired theme will be in the mix. If so, I really hope we get Miss Elly back as an entertainer as well. Ok, I hope we get ALL the previous entertainers back and then some. (yay tiger and elephant from RCT3 era) The other three new entertainers are very much in line with the new water themes/rides but this fourth doesn't fit into that to me.

I find it very humorous that here we are with a new game, and already there are a bunch of posts with "this needs to be" or "they have to give us" or "should be included" in the base game! In six years, nothing has changed!!! You get what you get, my friends, no one "owes" you anything! NOTHING "needs" to be in the base game! They are giving us five interesting themes, with hopefully many more down the road. Wait till the DLC's break, and those same folks will complain that this or that was in the base game for PC1, so why do we have to pay now?!?!

Personally, I would like to see fully complete, identical base pieces in all themes, with of course the individual detail bits and bobs to fill out each set. I was never really a fan of the Pirate set, so I am interested in the Viking set, I just worry that there might not be a lot to it. I would like a toyland/candyland set, think RCT2, a detailed gingerbread Victorian set with real vintage rides like captured airships, etc. I would also love to see more transport, such as omnibuses, a trolley, even horse and carraige! How about elephant and pony rides? (Not PC today, I guess.)

The other thing I DO NOT want to see is ridiculously exagerated giant pieces, (the kraken comes to mind)! Hopefully scaling can work on animatronic pieces as well!

A lot of people did ask for water parks. I was not one of them. I'm happy it's there for people. I'm sad is all, because at the moment it is a waterpark game based on the themes. They all align with water parks. Not Planet Coaster. I worry it will be challenging for an average builder to build a traditional theme park in the game. At this stage, without classic themes, maybe it should have been Planet Splash.

I generally build fantasy, and I have been able to do that in every theme park sim without Add ons except the Original Themepark. It's perfectly ok to discuss preferences and be disappointed about things or speculate on what people would like to see. It's part of the fun of a forum if it's respectful.

I totally agree with you Wing-man :) I do enjoy the waterpark aspect ever since RCT3 Soaked but it was always secondary to my main amusement park. Don't get me wrong, I'm very excited to try it out again this fall but I hope, like you, that a lot of the core themes make a comeback, even if not at initial release. The fairytale/fantasy, western, sci fi... and yes, I really like the pirate stuff too. But, I know I can't have it all, especially starting out, so I'll wait and see what we are given and hope for more. People are greedy to some degree and we all have different things we want so I get the posts and discussions of needing and got to have because a part of me feels that way too. And only seeing a smidge of the full game they are planning to release makes it hard not to also focus on what doesn't appear to have changed or seems like won't be included in addition to the cool new things like the amazing path system revamp and the new aspect of the waterparks and new guest needs like shade/sunscreen. I do enjoy reading through the different threads in this forum just to see what ideas people are coming up that I would never have thought of and really the passion and enthusiasm of this community for the game. It helps me to channel my excitement and dream of the possibilities while suffering this excruciating wait for game release day :p But yes, I think Frontier is striving to flesh out and deliver some of the big things players were still wanting from the first title and have only just started showing off how they are delivering (amazing path possibilities now!). I can't wait for more glimpses to be shown of what is coming. :)

Of course. Nobody owes us anything. But Frontier opened this entire Planet Coaster 2 thing with a post which said "We heard you". This is why water parks are in the game now.
Frontier clearly listen to their audience and their audience enjoy having a say as to what features appear in games.
So it's not being an ass, and it's not being ungrateful. It is simply gamers being able to put forward ideas for the future. It's harder to do that after release day when the majority of development is done and finished. It's fair to say that development has come a long way and so some ideas might just be not possible now. But others will be possible.

Now now, everyone is excited and welcome to give opinions, it's why you came here.
