PD-turret shoots down your own missiles in 1.1

How dare you. People have clearly stated that you are not listening/communicate to the community. Proving them wrong all the time will make you loose a lot of customers. :)

If they listened to beta testers in the first place 1.1 wouldn't be having these issues.

If beta testers would have actually tested the beta instead of moaning about python and shield cells it would have been a lot easier for FDEV to sort the bugs out.

Then maybe they should have made the beta open and give the backers something else for now. Once we have a nice stable base platform around release 2.0 then restrict the betas and shiny new toys to backers.

We need an open letter from Mr Brooks or Mr Braben apologising for dumping the unfinished beta out as a release, and a commitment from then not to do it intentionally again.

I am pretty sure that we would all rather wait another few weeks for bug testing, feature testing etc. to be completed, you have not released a public timetable of your intentions, you are only answering to yourselves and at present doing nothing but harm to your reputation.

Sony Online learnt the hard way that they need to listen to their player base when we staged a player revolt, lets hope that we as a community of players that love, hate, cry and yet still come back and play don't have to do this to Elite Dangerous.

They did and these issues were identified. You'll have to ask Frontier whey they chose not to fix them and test the fix before releasing 1.1. Testers explicitly stated at some length that 1.1 wasn't fit for release.

While there were certainly a lot of tester discussion on cells and the python (as there should be), there was also a lot of testing.

- The PDT bug was found by testers, documented with videos, reported to Dev, and acknowledged as a bug by Dev before release.
- The "slight collision bump instant death" bug was found by testers, documented with videos, reported to Dev, and (and I believe) acknowledged as a concern by Dev before release.

Testers had to waste time grinding for credits just to be able to purchase full loadouts for certain ships, or to purchase missles to test the new damage. Literally, testers were purchasing T9s (up to 24 of them) and stripping the parts off and selling them so that they could afford A-grade equipment for TESTING.

It was absurd.

Way to go Frontier... Don't you people even bother to listen to the beta testers? I mean really how stupid could you people be? You KNEW there was a problem. Many players even showed it to you and this is the garbage we get? Seriously? Is this a company norm? Releasing garbage and calling it an update? What the heck was the point of a beta when you don't even bother listening to the very players you had testing it out? What are you trying to emulate the trash Egosoft hashed out with X Rebirth? Because at this rate you are doing a dam good job of it. At least those morons had the sense to ACTUALLY FIX THINGS! I guess you missed the memo?

Now that's the spirit! Seriously, I would not give a ... about people acting like you.

I hope there was an implied sarcasm tag on at least one of these. The devs confirmed in beta that PDTs targeting any of your own ordnance is a bug.

I'm also one of the minority that thinks PD should target any and all missiles - after all, the ECM in 1984 took out all missiles that were "in the air", even your own.

At least in this version, you have the modules panel so you can switch off the PD if you're going to attack with missiles, or switch on PD if they are being used to attack you.

Although it is amusing and not what was intended, I for one would like it to stay. I'm guessing I'll be pretty lonely on this side of the fence, though...

I only read the title so someone may have mentioned the fact that there is an update today that will fix this - am downloading it at the moment so cannot verify that it works.
