As a Pedantry Olympian I would like to highlight certain things in ED that ping my pedantry radar:

Oo... Oo... I know these ones...

1. The FSD counter is always a second out. - That's the time it takes for your eyes to look from the screen to your time telling device
2. Why is every liner in the top 1%? - Because that is actually the top bottom liners list but you know... Bugs etc ;)
3. If every liner is in the top 1% why are they always late? - See above
4. Why is it always a guy that jettisons his cargo whilst docked? - Women don't do those kind of things in public
5. How can you have serious engine failure? Its binary, it works or it doesn't, in which case it is just engine failure. - Binary in 3303 consist's 0,1,2,3 and 5. $ Just got confusing so it was dropped after the great Millenium bug of 3000
6. Why when they say I should give way to larger craft do I get fined when a Sidey flies into my Cutter? - Because you have more money than the Quincer who can't even afford a re-buy
7. Why cant the logistics people in starports plan better? What difference would delivering something 1 minute later make? - Union rules mate, sorry
8. Why cant wedding barges have local comms, I am not interested in somebody elses wedding. - This is done as a warning to all single people - do this and tell everyone!
9. Why do pirates announce their arrival before interdicting? Just do it and surprise me. - Pirates are a nervous bunch who get worried at the smallest things so they warn you so as not to scare themselves
10.Why do I keep making lists? - This one I don't know so blame Tj! :D

I was looking at The Chieftan and for some reason the ship looks to me like a bouncer or doorman, depending on your geographical location, so.....wouldn't it be good if each starport had two chieftans parked outside. Sorry mate, no corvettes.....

Why do stations suffer from famine when tens of thousands of cheap food stocks are available a 5 minutes drive away?

Why do outposts insist on spinning the docking pad to ensure that I'm facing the incoming traffic on departure?

Why do ships hang out at the Nav Beacon?

Why does no one sue the military ship manufacturers for cartel behaviour, as easily demonstrated by their collective agreement to not address yaw axis manoeuvering?

How do conflicting parties negotiate the number, location and intensity of conflict zones, and who ensures both sides respect the rules?

I wish I was English like my hero Tj.
Why would anyone want their package destination changed to Colonia?
Also, why do they think doing so is only worth a few thousand credits? :)

Why do Outposts always sound like haunted houses when I'm docked?

Why does ranking up in the military involve hauling biowaste around and carting rich tourists around vacation spots?

Why do Outposts always sound like haunted houses when I'm docked?
Yeah this one ^

And why is docking pad 2 on outposts such a pain in the rear? You have to dodge a metal wall to land at it; then, before you depart, station control take great care to ensure that they've spun the pad around so that you've got to dodge the metal wall again on the way out.

Frustratingly, if you were allowed to approach or depart from the backside, that pad would be a clean shot.

When I'm docked on a planet, why is the next place I want to go to almost never above the horizon? Half the galaxy is above the horizon!
