People who complain about 'the grind' and the game being 'boring'

Same here!
I think priority was porting it to consoles, now that part is done so maybe we finally see some real content and depth further on in 2.4 and 3.0.
Porting it to all consoles so they don't need to do same amount of work twice, it would be reasonable.
Now when they finished that they can focus all resources and manpower to KS goals, next season will be good indication of that.
Just my opinion!

I dearly hope so....

Doesn't explain odd design decisions like Powerplay and The Engineers... And overall product choices like CQC...

I suspect 2.4 will be another inconsequential bolt on, so my hope is ED3 shows a clear change of direction/ethos.

An advice to OP: leave dangerous threads for good, this is a salt mine for entitled gamers.

I made a mistake by checking in to find about the mysterious event happening at the end of the month, and found endless moaning instead.

no, you made the mistake of checking in and got triggered because what ppl moan about is true and you just cant admit it to yourself.

all of us entitled gamers who actually expect content. oh but wait let me use my imagination. ill just go play no mans sky and pretend its ED. doesnt take much imagining actually.

The lack of content with regard the depth of stuff like ship outfitting, the stellar forge, the background story and the fine details such as the station themselves is to me ridiculous. If you think it's shallow - I think you are entitled.

But I challenge anyone to show a game like Elite that has similar scope and it is also better at it. So far I haven't seen any suggestions, so that perhaps explains the immense difficulty of building an ambitious project like this.

The OP's post about imagination is simple really: 20-30 years ago the games were much more basic in terms of gameplay and graphics, yet somehow we enjoyed them - the same way you can also enjoy a book without pictures too. Back then a game like what we have today would have been stuff of dreams, perhaps this is why I appreciate what we have, which is in fact a bloody miracle of technology. For example, to me the whole telepresence is not a problem because it does not interfere with the feeling of flying an SLF.

If you can't have fun with Elite is your problem, and it's okay, it isn't for everyone after all. However, to keep ranting in forums about it rather than doing something else in your free time you actually enjoy is... sad.

wait im just gona take some stuff from a to b, then ill take a mission to take some stuff from a to b.

man just an amazing content.

20-30 years ago i enjoyed colouring books... now not so much.

wait let me just shoot some stuff in a res site.

what an amazing content.

ive sayd it before but ill say it again so maybe gulible ppl like you can get the point.

adding more stuff from patch to patch means nothing, they need to make what they have more complex. right now the missions are a joke. whats the point of adding more diferent stuff to do? they need to improve what they allready have, but theyre in a race now so lets see if at least they can get to the finish line close to the winer.

look at what they did with the passenger missions, instead of just transporting they added more stuff to do like saking a beacon or whatever. thats creating content for ppl to do, but you continue your delusional opinion on us entitled gamers.

wait let me just scan this planet....

Regarding the 20-30 years ago : you are right. Elite would have been a pretty good hit 20-30 years ago. Now, it's not 1984 anymore. Expectations have changed. The last CoD would also be a dream-come-true kind of game.

Regarding the competition of Elite : the videogame industry is more competitive than ever. Is Elite the best it can be or simply better than the others so far ?
Elite have a huge potential, that it has yet to achieve

I concur...

I've been waiting for the gameplay to get more involved/deeper for 2+ years... And most releases have simply bolted on yet more simplistic gameplay, or rebadged what's already available. In 2+ years the only releases that I'd suggest have actually moved the game forwards have been planetary landings and then before that Wings.

I've just got accustomed to seeing FD announce what's in a forthcoming release, and wondering, why? Before then pinning my hopes on the next one... I've now progressed to giving up on even unannounced releases (ie: 2.4) and pinning my hopes on ED3...

So...It being LARGE is a valid excuse for it also being SHALLOW?

The Witcher 3 would like to talk about that...

It's shallow and lacking because of poor design direction resulting from poor leadership and a complete lack of concern for delivering the product promised to backers.

The last time I checked, Witcher 3 was a fantasy RPG. I wish some of you would provide a decent alternative to Elite, with a similar setting and scope.

And yes, I'm still amazed that people are endlessly haunting these forums how a complete failure this game is, as if it were a major socio-political issue or something. Why don't you do something different in your free time? Would it better to post in another forum about some other, much better game? Or simply hating is what you enjoy doing?

See above, I want to know what else I could play that has similar scope, or setting while being much better at it.

I get bored. I get bored of games in general now.

I tried to play so many games that I used to love in my childhood, from strategy to shooters. I find that the shorter the match or game type the more I enjoy myself.

But I am not kidding myself, I am moving on from games in a good way. I live on my own, started a job couple a years ago, soon a family, working out as well.

I guess it's a process of growing up for me. So when people say why are you bored of Elite, I can't really explain, because the game is fine.

I just prefer to spend my time elsewhere, with other things and people and activities, and that is fine. It really is damn fine. :)
