Personal experience using Touch Controllers with Oculus Rift on E:D?

I've got the Oculus Rift without the Touch controllers. Just wondering if anyone has experience with the Touch controllers in-game. Overall I'm happy using my HOTAS/pedals and sorta touch typing when required, but there's always something better.

The touch controllers are awesome in the few games I've tried like Robo Recall, but I've been playing Elite with an Xbox Controller for over a year now and I'm stuck with it.... unless I'm on the PS4 but its controller works identically (which makes this old man very happy)
