Can I add 'griefing' to this list. Also, even worse, 'grieving' which has a totally different meaning but is still used in place of 'griefing'.

I've noticed the Elite Dangerous forums seem to have generated a lingo all of it's own, an 'Elite-speak'if you will.
Here's some phrases I could happily never read again. Feel free to add your own!
1) Meta
2) Salty tears
3) Popcorn
4) Pew pew
5) White Knight
6 ) Fanbois (is that French?)
7) Saying 'mah' instead of 'my'
and of course
8) Git Gud
If everyone could refrain from using these phrases in future ...

Meta-alloys, ruining the game for regular alloys
I had not heard META being an anonym for Most effective tactic available.
From my Pen and Paper RPG days Meta-gaming was using information as a player that your characters did not know.
Like fighting Trolls with fire in DnD as they cannot regenerate the damage from fire, based not on your characters knowing it,. but from you as the Player reading about it in the Monster Manual

Meta is meta. It exists and meta is the accurate term, whether it is PvP meta or BGS meta.
And what it means is that in a rock paper scissors environment your success depends on your prediction of the other player's setup aka the metagame.
Because your setup is good, but its only perfect by predicting what the other's run so you can counter it.
Edit: So if there'd be a heatseeker rocket build, it'd be a metagame choice to run ecm or point defense. Since noone runs missiles, noone goes with counter measures, which is a meta choice as well.
