After completing the third Chief Beef scenario, I can safely say that pick-pocketing and security guards need some balancing, which is to be expected for an early new feature of the game. Despite having hundreds of cameras and security guards, I had the displeasure of seeing my own avatar getting robbed [haha] (I didn't even know they were in the game!).
But yeah, I'm not exaggerating, I must have had 500+ cameras scattered all across the park where guests could walk, and at least 100+ security guards. I only built 4 other rides relatively close together, averaging at about 1700 guests with a theft rate between 0.06-0.09%, yet they still got robbed left right and center! It's also annoying how people can get robbed outside of your park, where you have no control over it. I even experimented by removing all but 1 ride, and leaving the guests in a small area fully covered by cameras and security guards, but people still managed to get robbed.
To quote one of my guests, I feel "security guards are useless!" and a complete waste of money. For the first time I felt it was necessary to train some of my security guards to the maximum skill level, yet they still got outrun by guests VERY easily. Even before I hired hundreds of other security guards, the five I had complained about heavy workflow despite hardly doing anything and almost never apprehend the criminals they were chasing. They also wanted waaaay too much money for just walking around as well. Do fully trained guards even get an increase in stamina?
In the end, I went from having $40k to $-8k in order to complete the hard objective of keeping theft rate below 0.20% by placing all the security/cameras. Overall, I have enjoyed the new update, and look forward to seeing updates to security if there will be any. Also, if people have more insight on how I should tackle handling these thefts, that would be appreciated! I'm always willing to learn more about this game, especially if I'm wrong or doing something incorrectly.
