Piero Angela

Dear development team, I'm cmrd Asamith, an old player from DaVinci corp. Today for us Italians is a sad day; a great man passed away, Piero Angela. For 70 years he was the face of mass scientific dissemination, during which with simplicity and kindness, with firmness and reasoning, he showed generations of Italians the wonders of the world and the cosmos. Many of my generation found themselves flying in the elite galaxy, because as children television broadcasts such as "superquark", they transmitted to us the magnificence of the stars and the desire to explore them. In the sign of perhaps the noblest tradition of the elite, of naming the stations after the great men of science, I would like to ask for the possibility of doing the same for our beloved Piero Angela; I'm sure he would have liked it and maybe it could be useful for some players to discover this great man, and maybe enjoy the wonder of his explanations.

Kindly regards

I fully agree with this proposal

+1 it must be done absolutely!

Godspeed Piero!

I grew up watching his broadcasts, kind and great man of science, incredible science communicator.

He did multiple great shows about the universe, in my favourite he was commanding a fictional ship called Noûs (which in ancient greek means knowledge or thought, it has lots of meanings), which is the name of my Asp explorer that I dedicated to him and his work.

Please Frontier, it would be great to have a station in his honor.
Thank you

Ad Astra Piero o7

Yes please!
he was in my opinion one of the best science communicators in the whole world, in his program he dealt with very complicated topics, BUT with a simplicity and kindness that few in this world could achieve, all without ever compromising, always trying to maintain the rigor that such arguments they deserve

he explained astronomy, science, physics, nutrition, music, history, philosophy to adults and children for decades without ever holding back, his program was a "mandatory appointment" in Italy during the very hot augusts evenings summer.

The figure of him is perfectly comparable to an "Italian Carl Sagan" or an "Italian David Attenborough", a person devoted exclusively to sharing knowledge, to science, enthusiastic about every little news in the technological and scientific field.
Many are here thanks to the "joy for science and astronomy" that during adolescence Piero Angela was able to transmit, with a very simple TV program, a person who was able to make us dream of space exploration, and to transmit the "curiosity to know the why of things".

I support the plead for naming a station to Piero Angela. He dedicated his life to scientific education and he was the founder of Cicap - an association for debunking pseudosciences.

I agree with this!

It is a great idea. In Italy his name means science, education and politeness. The epitome of the man of science. So many Italians fell in love with science thanks to him.

For the non-Italians, he's got the Italian tv-clout of David Attenborough, but instead of just nature, it's all of science. I've lived in Italy for 20 years and his programme Super Quark has been a mainstay in our house. But he's been broadcasting for 70 years since the 50s.
