I play ED only 2-3 days, and I found strange bug in VR with pimax; the lightning is different on booth eyes. I have in pimax settings "parallel projection" enabled, but it does not help. Geometry is presented on booth eyes good, only indirect lights are wrong. If I enter space station (any), and then observe lightning on "walls", it is easy to see that some shinny parts are dark on other eye. I can recognize that immediately, but to be sure I need to close one eye, than another to see difference.
Is that a bug, or my settings are wrong? Is there possibility to make it right in settings?

PS: In training, second part in asteroids, I never finished it, as asteroids are correct shown on right eye, and on left eye there is strange bug, all shapes are in small vertical lines. I am not sure that asteroids bug is same as lightning bug.

@developer - please check those bugs, and please adopt ED to be used without parallel projection in VR (it cost us ca 30% of performance)

PS2: My game is steam vr. Why launcher starts oculus also???

Hi

Have you tried turning Smart Smoothing off in PiTools - there are a number of "odd" symptoms that occur for me between the two screens in my 8K with that on, so I disable it (PiTools likes to turn this back on occasionally, so if this does cure your issue, check it regularly).

Hope that helps and I also hope we see Parallel Projections coded out at some point.

So the problems persists no matter which way you are looking?

I am not using my p5k+ at the moment, but after Elite had its "lighting update" - or situationally chosen post process colour grading filters, as somebody else might have called it, there was a problem with the behaviour of either the HDR grading, or the canopy automatic dimming feature, because of the canted setup of the HMD screens; If you were e.g. looking tangentially to a sun, you'd have one eye that faces somewhat toward the sun, and one the faces the same 10° out, away from it, making them fall on different sides of the facing direction threshold where dimming applies. You could turn your head, and see one eye and then the other go in- or out of the zone of effect.

...but this is not it, then?

hi guys, smart smoothing is off.
And for lightning, I can see it on details on space station. I understand we have canted displays, but with pp=on that shouldn't be a problem.
ps; Elite act like I am forceing pp=off on lightning only. Do you see that too?

I have same problem very annoying, and I don`t use SteamVR. Unable to find solution, don`t have same problem in other sims that I paly (DCS IL2 and car sims PC2, ACC, DR2) I was wonder if other VR headset in ED have similar problem? But I can`t check it :(

Anyway, can anyone confirm that only Pimax have that problem? You can check it when you near the star and looking and pilots hand, close right eye, then left eye, lighting should`t be changing (in Pimax 5k+ it changed almost every time)

It does seem like something like that. There are also a bunch of games that in a probably related manner miscalculates their culling frustum, so that objects pop in and out of existence near the edges of the FOV - sometimes even in pp-mode - often only on the right side.
