Pimax 8K VR headset kickstarter ends...

This is not a parts of ED screen, but just look, how the texts from Project Cars are clearer without the crazy SDE of current VR systems:

This is what I need in Elite. :)

Several of us are already backers. See the Pimax thread. Looking forward to seeing it arrive on my doorstep early next year.

I'm also a backer but nice to see others posting about the 8K.
I did consider waiting until this becomes available in the stores as a friend of mine is doing, but waiting an extra 4 months+ and not getting those kickstarter freebies in the stretch goals, I'm a backer.

oil pressure is lower in the oculus rift, so i am keeping the rift ;)

that looks like a nice step up in quality, is the vive really that much worse than the rift however?

That screenshot doesn't give the whole of the picture. I thought the general consensus on this forum was that the VIVE has a slightly worse pixel density, but that it's made up for with a slightly better field of view.

Bearing that in mind, the Pimax 8K should be even more impressive when donning it.

This image fragment just shows how much the SDE (screen door effect) decreases, not the image sharpeness. The input signal ppi for P8 and Vive are almost equal.
And we can't class the whole picture because of incredible distortion of fov 200. Looks like we can make the decision only through the personal test of headset. :)

There is no distortion for the 200 FOV. It is native through steam VR. The input signal is somewhat higher then the Vive and is upscaled like 720 can be upscaled to 1080p without distortion.

I had in mind the usual distortion for the fov200, it is difficult to perceive without the fov200 lenses.

This looks a bit crazy, right? Bit all is fine if you see the same through the fov200 lense. :)

I'm looking forward to hearing your review of it. Was gonna get a rift for xmas but I think I'll wait. Not only does the pimax have better resolution without the distortion, its also got a wider field of view.

Ive gone for the 8k, ive gone from dk2 to the cv1, so the pimax 8k is the next upgrade as far as im concerned . Cant wait for the 200 fov.

The 200 degree is the game changer.. i was amazed by that when I tried it with FN and Bigscreen ..
