Pirates? Out here?

Right, there is definitely something going on out here.

I came across this lot in NGC 2451A Sector HR-W d1-35, 570 LY from the nearest occupied system.

This system is a G-class star and has 3 C4T and a WW (not C4T).

They paid me no attention what soever, so I followed for a while. Then two Annis split off and jumped followed a minutes or so later by the rest.

After what's been going on in Sothis and Takurua, I suspect Utopia.

Good find and screenshot.

That's painite or hafnium 178 convoy. It could have even been UA convoy but that one doesn't look like it.

This is why there is pirates out there. They are stealing things to order from these convoys.

Those convoys are bringing things back into the bubble. But where are there getting them from?
There is something out there.

Edit: Wait, part of the convoy split and jumped? Hmm, maybe it was an Unidentifed Artefact convoy. I think thats the only convoy that does that, the others from what I've seen don't split up.

How can you tell from that image? I'm not doubting you, just curious.

Two ships split, I think it was the two Annis.

Other things that peaked my curiosity are; 6 in a wing, "No Faction" on a System Defence Force vessel, The System Defence Force vessels were both T9's (not really combat ships), and they were accompanied by a bunch of Cobras and Annis - also with no colours showing.

These guys's didn't want to be identified, but took no action to warn me off.

Only those type of convoys transport those type of goods. AI Relics, painite, hafnium 178, Unknown Artefact, SAP8 Core.
We find them inside the bubble and now we are finding them further and further away.
Here's an example of what they carry. The single cargo item can be any of the special products listed above.

Here is a vid of one of those convoys getting jacked for it's hafnium 178.

Looking at my own vid shows me that it's not only the UA convoys that split up. The other do too.
If it is the UA convoy then there would be some strange chat in local between the pilots.

Ah, experience. Can't argue with that :D

Very impressive, though I can't possibly condone your actions ;)

I saw no chatter on local. I would like to know what a convoy of this kind is doing in the black and why it is attracting pirates. I don't have a cargo scanner.

I assume it's part of the ongoing storyline.

There is some interesting Elite rank missions that ask for these things and talk about looking for places out there.
they don't seem to lead anywhere at the moment but FD have mentioned there are things to find out there with horizons.
