Ships PIREP requested, FDL vs Python in Combat.

I'm not going to lie, I'm to lazy to engineer a Python, but, has anyone done it? If so, how does it compare to a FDL? Another reason I'm asking is because the Python body kit looks slick!!! Reminds me of the 315P. And yes, I'm shallow and want a nice looking ship

For PVE they're both very effective when engineered and TBH the Python benefits most from high grade mods because of the improvements in speed/agility and shield strength (the FDL has these attributes unengineered)

The biggest plus for the Python is the 7A PD that allows you to run pretty much any weapon loadout, the 6A in the FDL can be stretched by some energy weapon builds, in the Python armour up in the FDL go for max shield MJ

i have both engineered to the max. it is pretty much like ceekay says. still, the FDL is faster and more manouverable. but the python can do everything at the same time with just swapping scb for cargo. basically a fully engineered python is a multipurpose, which you can take into combatzones, or where you can play an assassination and directly afterwards a salvage mission, while trading ;-)

I bought one last night and started modifying it. I did shields, boosters, FSD, and Thrusters. Not all grade 5, due to lack of resources. But, it definitely changes the Python for the better.
Jump range is 23, boost is 405, and biweave shields are 550 ish. So I'm pleased with this.

Now to buy the ship kit and modify it even more.

Strictly against each other, FDL wins regardless of opponent assuming average loadout/equal pilot skill.

As a PvE ship..why does it matter? Highly engineered sidewinder would be viable ;)
