Placing pre-build coasters.

I'm I missing something?

When I try to place a blue-print if the track for the coaster goes into the ground it tells me that I can't place it due to "intersecting terrain". Is this a feature?? Why can't the game just "tunnel" where necessary??

The easiest way to fix it is to just dig out the area with the terrain tools. Get the ride at the height you want. Then use the terrain tool again to bring the ground back up to where you want

Thank you for the reply,

That's quite the nuisance. That basically negates all the thought that goes into building underground coasters.

Whenever I try to place down rides, it wont let me? For example, if I choose a rollercoaster blueprint, I cannot place it down. I'm clicking but nothing is happening? Does anyone know why?

You could be outside the border, it could be an old workshop blueprint from beta/before where the hitbox has got messed up, there could be terrain in the way.

Does it beep at you and flash 'obstructed' at the cursor?

Diagnose by holding shift and moving up/down. You often need to raise things a little to place them.

Setting terrian is not easy with a complex coaster as you cannot tell WHERE to dig away as the coaster image is not retained as you go to terrain to alter it so you lose the location in 3d space.

Personally I would like the option of auto cutting/tunnel when placing a coaster but at the least there should be an option to keep a shadow of the positioned coaster on view while you terrrain to suit it.

Which will bankrupt your park and takes about half an hour to do so for big coasters

I hope they will just add auto-tunneling for placing blueprints because we've been asking for this since the start
