Hayo Park Managers!

As we head towards launch, we've seen a few more frequently asked questions that we would like to respond to!

Does the guest cap also apply to PC, what affects it and why is it there? If it is on PC as well will it be removed from PC in a future update?

We have set a guest cap of 6000 guests to create the best experience in terms of performance for our players at launch. We will be continuing to analyse and evaluate player hardware feedback regarding this topic post-launch.

Are custom music/sounds/billboards in the game? Will they be added?

Planet Coaster 2 is all about creativity, and we are always considering new ways to bring your theme parks to life. We will be introducing these features in a future update.

Will load/unload stations be added?

Coasters and rides are at the heart of Planet Coaster 2. We will be introducing load/unload stations in a future update.

Will rides with built-in decor have 'vanilla' versions too?

Yes. Creativity is at the core of Planet Coaster 2, and the ability to attach scenery to rides is something which we’re very proud of, allowing Park Managers to create unique rides. We are always considering new ways to expand this creativity, and will continue to introduce further creative options, including additional neutral coaster cars in future updates.

Will Planet Coaster 2 be playable on Steam Deck?

Rich has the answer for you...

Even though I will still wait to buy the game, I am glad that you have finally spoken up and given us hope for improvements and many new expansions to the game by answering some important questions that have been raised here in the forum for a long time.
The reason I still wanna wait a little longer before buying the game is because I first want to see where PlanCo2's journey will take to. You created a wonderful game. There are so many things that have been improved and just as many new things that you have added to the new PlanCo. As far as the new themes go, I'm only interested in the Viking theme, the mythology and resort themes. The 'Soaked'/Water theme is not really my thing. I do like building roller coasters, but I don't place much value on hyperrealism. So I don't want to criticize anything in that regard. As far as park management goes, relatively simple management is enough for me. Things like energy management and security are less important to me. Instead, I would like to see a few VIPs in the park again. But what is definitely important to me are themes!!! Themes, themes, themes. And with that, lots of scenic objects, plants, animatronics, etc. And I still lack choice! I'm certainly spoiled by the Steam Workshop, where there were also numerous TMTK objects. To sum up, I'll wait to buy the game until I've seen at least 2 new themed DLCs and at least 2 updates. I really miss the fairy tale, pirate and/or adventure and Wild West themes. If at least one DLC has one of these themes, I'd be a lot closer to making my purchase decision. And if one of the upcoming updates includes ATMs, billboards and large screens, then I'd be even closer to making my purchase decision. ;) I'll keep an eye on it, but I'm very hopeful that it will all turn out that way and that I'll buy the game next year at the latest. Until then, I can save up some money for a new graphics card. Because I'll definitely need one then...

Thank you for addressing some concerns! Would love to also hear if there are any plans to update the waterslide animations/physics as they seem a bit jank in all the gameplay we've seen. Extremely excited to get my hands on the game tomorrow either way! :)

Thank you so much for communicating. Some of these points are very important for many of us, the custom media is even a crucial point for me.
Of course there are more remaining questions regarding the variety of (older / gentle / family) rides and themes, but for now, thanks to your information here, I can look forward to the game again and have a lot of trust in its (further) development again.
Good luck with the launch, and good luck for a lot of DLCs that we can hopefully look forward to :)

So how about a timeframe for everything? How about park size? How about switch tracks and these type of special elements on other coasters?

I've seen this comment about ATM's a lot, and it kinda surprises me. I think at this point, ATM's are a bygone idea. A lot of theme parks in the post covid world have gone cashless, so peeps needing to get more money while in the park becomes a no longer necessary something. Just increase the amount of money peeps have access to in general and ATM's become superfluous.

Thanks for being more transparant. It was really needed with so many doubts and uncertainties from the community. I, and with me a lot of people, would love to know more about the following:
1. With unload and load stations getting added later (Yay!), will we please get further improvements to the stations? With creativity and customizability being the core of Planet Coaster 2 (it's even mentioned in the opening post here!), it feels so weird that we still get the same old stations from Planet Coaster 1, while so many people in the community have been vocal about it: it's very large, the gates on the rows are way too long compared to most rides in real life, station operations are very unrealistic (at the very least waiting to board until every guest has left the station. There's also no checking of restraints which I'm fine with but would be a great addition) and they are not customizable at all (except for putting a building around it). Or think of a wing coaster: in real life, they have an entrance and exit on both sides of the platform since there's a huge track in the middle so people can't go to the other side. See example picture below. The track is above ground so it's blocking the walkway basically. It would be amazing to see improvements here, since that is really lacking from PC1 to PC2. (Oh, and don't forget that conveyor belt for the FD Vision that doesn't seem to actually be in the game ;))

2. Why are the animations of slides unrealistic? RCT3 Soaked (2005) had better physics/animations on slides, and was also made by Frontier. 19,5 years later it should definitely be possible to make them realistic, especially with slides and water parks being a core feature of PC2. It doesn't even need to be physics: just proper animations. And I get it if they're simplified when you're further away from the slides, but when you're up close or even on POV cam mode, it should look realistic.

3. Will we ever be able to change the height of some rides and elements, such as a drop tower (was even possible in the RCT series) or the lift height of the Outermax Water Coaster (pre-order ride)? Sometimes you want a smaller drop tower, and the lift of the water coaster is huuuuggeeeee.

I feel like for the majority of the community these 2 are the common concerns at the moment. It would be amazing if Frontier would be transparant about it and let us know if something about them is being worked on (maybe even the 'what' as a teaser?), or let us know why something wasn't implemented? Because knowing a reason that makes sense also calms the community down.

Can't wait for the game! Preorder Deluxe is ready and I'm very excited to play!

Super excited to hear about load/unload stations!! Will we be able to have dual stations like Tatsu or Kingda Ka? Transfer tracks for train storage would be amazing too!

I'm glad to hear about the future improvements and can't wait to play tommorrow. Regarding the guests limit, maybe you could set the default limit to 6000 and everybody can decide whether the hardware is capable of doing more. Anyhow I totally understand that you set a limit and avoid crashes or frame drops. Looking forward to the release tomorrow!

I remembered the first Planet Coaster game that had all of its rides have strict assigned seating policy and there’s no way to select ‘First-Come-Basis’ or ‘Free Seating’ option in order to allow our park visitors to select the row or ride vehicle they want.

On the ‘Assigned Seating’ option as a default as you build any ride you want but there should be ‘Honorary Seating Requests’ option to allow them to ask the staff member nicely to whether or not to let them wait for the extra cycle for the preferred row but same as for the ‘First-Come-Basis’ seating option.

Types of ‘Honorary Seating Requests’ for Assigned Seating/First-Come-Basis options if turned on:
“Don’t allow” (Assigned Seating) - Riders cannot pick their specific seat they want as they fill the train from front to back for each cycle.
“Don’t allow” (First-Come-Basis) - Riders cannot wait for the specific seat they want for the next train/cycle if already occupied.
“Allow” (Assigned Seating/First-Come-Basis) - Riders will honor a row request for their specific seat they want if not yet already occupied.

There you go for my own suggestion for Planet Coaster 2 in the future updates and I hope you have seating options feature on rides/attractions. Thank you for reading this and have a good day!

Everything sounds fantastic but PLEASE fix the barriers/kerbs, so that people dont walk through scenery. They worked really well in part 1 and above all nobody walked through benches or trash cans. The objects had their own collision, like the shops...

Please enable full use of the entire sandbox map and customizable map size for the PC version – as soon as possible!

Hello Planet Coaster team,

A big request for the PC version of Planet Coaster 2: it would be fantastic if we could use the entire sandbox map up to the very edge, without being restricted by invisible boundaries. Being able to build on every corner of the map would greatly enhance creative freedom and allow us to fully realize our ideas.

Additionally, a feature that lets us customize the map size on PC would be amazing. This way, we could adjust the space based on the size of our project or system performance. This flexibility would make Planet Coaster 2 even more appealing to the PC community.

If possible, it would be wonderful to see these features integrated as soon as possible in the upcoming updates. A direct response would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you for your hard work and for always listening to community feedback!

I know that the developers of planet coaster 2 will most likely not see this, but I really want to have a greater emphasis on tracked rides AND THE EDITION OF TRACKLESS DARK RIDES. Often the most immersive rides are tracked dark rides, and currently the vehicles can’t be customized. The feature I’ve always wanted the most are trackless dark rides. I know that there is a trackless vehicle but it doesn’t have the same functionality of modern trackless rides. The vehicles are also all circular, and if there were circular and square vehicles available that would be cool, kind of like the different bike coasters in the first game. I am using Rise of The Resistance as a reference. Trackless rides should:

1.) not follow a track and move on the floor
2.) be able to move in groups/ separate from each other
3.) use elevator lifts and drop sections
4.) have screen motion platforms (like in ratatouille)
5.) have a broad range of motion and move forwards, backwards and side to side in a quick manner

This implementation would be beneficial to the company in a future update/ dlc as it could be financially rewarding, demonstrate the company’s technical potential, and could please the planet coaster fan base and create more loyalty and trust in consumers. If this could be implemented into the game that would be much appreciated. Thanks!
