Planet Coaster 2 | Spring 2025 Roadmap

It's really nice to see some news. I have been patiently waiting since mid-December to hear anything. In the last month, on this forum and on Steam, I've witnessed lot of concern about transparency between the developers and the public. This news gives me hope that the game and the company have life. Looking at Frontier Development financials is a little disheartening. I was beginning to think I was conned into a pump and dump scheme but, the road map showing future plans up through May gives me hope that this game and Frontier may have a future. Thanks for finally letting us know you still exist and thanks for beginning to fix all the issues that should have been squashed before release. Beta might have been a good idea. Give me hope and please get the majority of fixes done before any more DLC is announced. I'm not sorry for sounding angry because I am angry. I feel lied to about the state of the game on release. This game has great potential but was released as a prepubescent tweenager. I expected so much more from Frontier. Not confident that a "roadmap" is reality. You will have to earn my trust and money back. Time will tell.

Are you aware of any problems with hybrid coasters? There is a description on the photo.

Imagine if we got a new Career Mode scenario where you'd have help out Bernie from Planet Zoo build an amusement park replica of Scholey Manor/Goodwin House...
Also, I'd like to have the option of resetting your Career Mode progress from scratch as well.

Yes I also agree that although new features are always nice, I think the priority should be fix current and fix old features.

Please acknowledge that you are working on that too. Because now we don't even know if we can remove path kerbs by time April comes and so on.

It's easier to sell new features, custom billboards yes they are nice, but I dont think anyone cares about custom billboards when you still cant remove path kerbs, or when a lot of building pieces from certain material sets are still missing.

Yes this is a step in the right direction, but I agree with PC_OCD above here that it will take a while before I and many others are fully relieved.

The kerbs really are my number 1 frustration right now other than the lack of themes. The official Planet Coaster YouTube account responded with "Thanks for the suggestion" when I asked for this feature on their 2025 roadmap community post on Jan 15th so it's probable that the devs have seen it. We've also been begging for it all over the suggestion forum for weeks, so they've hopefully figured out how badly we want it by now :p

above all, what's so complicated about the paths without kerbs, surely it can't take months now?! And it's still completely incomprehensible that it was removed at all.

I really have the feeling that some of the programmers/game designers have never played Planco1 or Planet Zoo. Frontier has really made life difficult for itself here by removing many old standard features, including height-adjustable freefall towers, which are not even mentioned...

I now expect to see them as soon as possible:

  • Paths without kerbs
  • Multiselect (Shift+mouse click)
  • Black/yellow barriers with collision detection
  • Paths from 2 metres incl. employee paths
  • optionally a transparent path would be great too
  • height-adjustable freefall tower
  • the standard classic rides Little Venetian Carousel, Condor, Break Dancer, Rocktopus (and not 1 per month spread over half a year, they are ready)
  • approx. 10 of the 50-60 existing shops/vendor machines (all finished)
  • A functioning railway crossing would be great at some point

And that has to happen quickly now. For me, it's more important than putting all my energy and time into new animations for the slides/tyres!

Next, 1-2 of the old themes with ALL the old parts/animatronics, for me western and horror first. We need scenery and animatronics for darkrides that work now, but we hardly have any objects :-(

Then new mechanics for hotels, restaurants, walk-in shops. I'm also still missing a replacement for the TMTK, we need objects!!!! I'm also still mourning the fantastic workshop with 500,000 items, that was also a big mistake, that's exactly what Planco1 lived on for so long! I hope this will be corrected for us PC players in the course of the year, we are a ‘different community’ than the console players, after all, about 7 million have bought Planco...

And then new DLCs may also come for which I am happy to pay (if the content is appropriate similar to the Planco1 structure)

Yes agree with all that, just weird how something so minor but important that we first game had took months and still does not have any acknowledgement.

If you can't remove path curbs right now, in PC2, then railroad crossings made with collision off will look funny with the curbs over the rails. Unless you make the rails go over the curbs and put some sort of ramp over the tracks on the path. I made crossings in PC1 by making the rails flush with the path and having no curbs where the rails crossed the path. They borked a bunch of things in PC2 that they need to fix this year. At least we finally have a roadmap for the next two months and more to come in April and May and beyond.
