I don't know, they added new things, but at the same time omitted things from the first game. Those steel beams on the RMC coaster, they are not recolorable in 2 because the game was rushed and now they are trying to make up for it with free updates.
I just wanted to make sure, that this isn't missed in the discussion BUT for PC players Adam and Rich said in the highlights video, that it is now only necessary to press and hold left mouse-button and drag to activate the multiselect tool. Please, for the love of god, can you confirm that you can now also just hold shift and click on multiple objects to multi-select, like on Planet Zoo, as this wasn't specified on the video? I'll cry if they for some reason didn't include this.
Your number 4 – that's what I thought too! Its absolutely nice that there are now standard and themed versions, so the future is bright for additional trainsCan't wait for the update!!
It brings back some of the most requested features! Amongst them is my personal favorite, custom music! The game is rapidly improving and will soon surpass the greatness of Planet Coaster 1 in my opinionVery well done!
I noticed 4 things that were unannounced but were very nice surprises :
1. More screens (very nice!!)
2. Train scenery as custom pieces (It's only a handfull, but very cool to have them as loose pieces to use in different places! Especially the bird one is very cool!)
3. Ability to synchronise slides. I hoped this would be a thing but since it wasn't confirmed im glad it's in the game! This means we can now make dualling slides as well!!
We could even recreate the 8 slide racer from Rulantica! Very cool!
4. A bit of a weird one to be hyped about but the ability to add trains without adding a new coaster!! I hope this opens up possibilities for the future where we can get more trains or different kinds of trains without getting a total new ride. (Could be part of free update or DLC)
I could not agree more with you. This game is late alpha state at best, possible early beta. The update is nice, but it does not resolve any of the major issues with the game. The game was rushed out to hit the Christmas season, but it backfired and a lot of the long term fans of the Planet series (and the RCT sericer before that) are now looking elsewhere. The core simulation is still broken, the management is non-existent, guests are lifeless and still just bops around from one queue to another, never going in and never giving a reason for not going in, UI is still fighting the player at every click (it is still a huge clickfest, I can't imagine anyone playtested this on a PC before release. Seems like they only focused on consoles). They just float around. I probably will move on to other games and maybe pop in after the next few updates to see if a miracle has happened.1) We have people who post valid criticism and want bug fixes and first game content and quality of life features
2) We have people that only want new additions that we didn't have in the first game.
3) We have people that are happy with everything and tell everyone to stop giving any suggestions and feedback because Frontier is working on it.
I count myself in the first group. Yes we understand "they are working on it", so all this is WITH ALL DUE RESPECT, but still, multiple months to almost half a year is a long time when it comes to this. Too long if you ask me, so I honestly do not believe i'm being unreasonable in any way. We paid top dollar for this game that honestly is not even an improvement over the first one. Except for the addition of pools and water slides it's a step backwards. Okay we can attach scenery to rides and coasters, okay we have a foliage brush, okay the pathing is in some ways an improvement but in other ways it's also a huge step backwards. This game wasn't even tested by anyone on the PC. I legit refuse to believe there has been any quality control by an actual experienced PC user.
It simply is a, early alpha, maybe beta test game still to this day. A poorly-done console port (which is clear in every way, the UI, the controls, multi select still doesn't work properly and is extremely tedious, do the people at Frontier even play PC games?). We are the paying customers and also the loyal supporters of the first game and all the DLC. We have also posted on this forum for years trying to steer this game in the best direction and many suggestions here over the years posted by the community have been added which also helped turning the first game into a succes. So we have every right to voice our opinions and honestly I think we should because without many of us there wouldn't even be quality.
So about Planet Coaster 2 and these updates: That stuff takes time is only logical. Yes we understand it isn't as easy as copy paste so the fanboys can stop mentioning that at every piece of criticism being posted. But to be honest, the excuse why something very basic that the first game had is still not added doesn't matter when you look at simple facts and that is that the first game had it and the second game didn't and that we paid top dollar for it and that months later we still am waiting for basic functionality. We should just have a right to expect for basic quality which is first game + more or better. It's that easy. It has been this way for decades in the gaming industry whenever a sequal came out. It's not any different now.
It's good that they do updates, but we should not pretend they are doing us a favor out of the kindness of their own hearts, it is a business, we are the customers, its literally their obligation because they have a company and a brand to protect. Unless they stop right now with the development of PlanCo2 and call it a day and never sell any DLC again then sure it stops right here. But until then we have every right to voice our opinion and I think we should.
Now about this update: it's a step in the right direction. But for me it still feels incomplete and it's gonna be a long road before I actually get the Planet Coaster spark back.
I had them all on bargain and change them to custom but with same prices and that made them start to use them again.Yep, it is a step in the wrong direction. More things are broken now than before. They seem to not wanting to rid flat rides anymore in my parks I loaded for test.
Who suggested that billboards would be the highest priority over fixing all the other issues?
Did anyone play test this update before release?
I'm honestly a bit surprised that they haven't moved the heatmap notch to the side yet and that it remains at the top on PC, perhaps it was the best place for it to be on Planet Zoo console, but it looks shoehorned in on PC version, along with the full-screen grey placeholder looking pause menu. Literally a generic picture of a park would look much better and more exciting, than that full grey screen with a queen splash icon in the middle of it.Can you also please lower interface scale to like from max 70% to like 50% and make things look less 'smudged' and there is also a huge HEATMAP button on top of the screen
it looks like it yesAm I correct that by "interchangeable coaster cars," that only applies to 2 coaster types at the moment?
