Planet Coaster 2 | Update 3 - Available Now!

I hope that curbs off is something that is even possible. They programmed the path building differently in 2. But, they did a lot of fixes and improvements this month, including Western theming and the Vekoma suspended coaster and round slide bottoms. About the RCT3 vs. PC2 thing, maybe they should look at Complete Edition and see how the physics are and apply those to PC2. It seems that Update 3 has improved slide physics. I really want to know what Update 5 in May will have. Will they talk about that in March's Unlocked or wait until April's Unlocked?
 
for some odd reason the performance in my park has gotten very bad. its not overall performance it, only when i zoom into stuff that my game drops from 75 fps to 50 fps, dont know whats happening here. is anyone else experiencing this maybe?
other than that i appreciate the fixes ive got to test so far are pretty good. the size of the animatronics look somehow totally off but i guess thats how it is and will probably stay. adding scaling to these items would eliminate that problem but could be just me thats bothere by that :)

I just had a short test on advanced flume physics and need to test it on additional flume layouts, but I can't recognise any improvements on my body flumes. Peeps are sticking to the inner sides of turns (advanced option on/off doesn't change anything). There's no difference on duelling flumes if advanced physics is active on one of them.
I have to mention that I only build common flumes instead of extraordinary layouts.

My double raft flume seems behave realistically and the exaggerated rotating is gone. 😀
 
The update is now available on PC & PlayStation 5 and will be available on Xbox later today. We will update this thread when it goes live.

Would sou mind giving us some insight on what happened with the blueprints limit? Before update 3 we were able to save blueprints over 4k pieces and it worked without a problem. After update 3 we are back again getring limited. Is there any reason for that? Are you planning to lift that limitation at least for pc users?
I understand for workshop you might want to keep it, but for personal blueprints we need to get this limitation removed
 
I notice we are still missing some desert foliage and rocks like the Mesquite Tree for example. I'm also honestly surprised we didn't get the desert biome. The trailer was very deceiving on this.
Everything sounds amazing, so thrilled with the progress of this game, however I'm also surprised/sad we didn't get a desert biome to go with the western theme. I was hoping it would then lend itself to getting a tundra biome when we get snow in the future. Perhaps all the biomes will come at once or something.
 
for me personally, i couldnt care less about flumes. Ive played 1100 hours so far and havent built a single flume yet, its just not my cup of tea. And i dont have any problems with frontier fixing the physics, but i do share the same opinion as some others. If frontier did this correctly before release or got some community feedback in a beta phase then we wouldnt be sitting here watching them „waste“ 4 months time to fix it. But i think this argument has already been stated many times and we cant change how things have played out and are now. It is what it is.
Im mostly looking forward to the fixes and new features. I just hope they been testing enough to make sure they dont repeat the same mistake like with custom audio in last update. And i just hope they finally fixed custom media stability overall. Cant be that they launched it last update, it led to crashing my park and i got told to just not use custom media. Like ok then why was the feature even implemented?😅
The new theme kinda lost its magic for me personally, as it seems to be just a basic 1:1 copy paste from planco 1. i was honestly expecting a bit more.
Again, it is what it is, nothing we can change right now. Ill have to get my hands pn the update to realy say if its good or not.

I wonder if the fact we are British and never get a real summer and have very few water parks, has anything to do with us not building a single pool or slide yet.

It honestly doest matter if they were done now or in the future, they needed doing and all these things will soon add up to and incredible overall experiance.

Each update has only had a hand full of things that interest me but i just tell myself that with everything i dont care about, thats one less thing that needs working on and is one step closer to the things i do care about getiing worked on.

Haha no im not british, but could be i picked up on such sayings because i do watch alot of uk content creators and support manchester united since 25 years. Basically watch all football matches with british commentators even though english isnt even my native language.

It was just that they have decided to programm something which nobody was asking for...

And that they better should have used their resources (even if it wasn't really much) for fixing more issues.
How do you know how many resources were required? Once basic physics were there it was likely not too much work.
 
Bug PSA:

Custom music when enabled on a ride seems to play fine. But then it speeds up park music that is already playing. Doesn't ever seem to reset itself. Keeps getting subtly faster over time with each loop (once around the track/sequence) the rollercoaster/ride makes. This is very off-putting and impossible to play and enjoy in this current state.

Edit:

Went into a new park to recreate this bug. All music on park speakers are bugged to speed up once any other music plays it seems. After only a few seconds of building a coaster, the Planet Coaster theme music came on and then the music coming from the park speakers was playing faster than normal.

Edit 2:

I have isolated that the bug with speakers is range. Once you get out of range of hearing the speaker and go back to within range, the music is sped up. This may be tied to the update to make sure that the speakers keep playing without resetting/looping back to the beginning of the track. Seems like a simple issue to fix. Thanks and I hope my investigating this issue helps resolve this quickly.

2. People (incl. me) would to see more realistic physics on flumes instead of sticking to one defined line.
I can say that on my (normal layout) body flumes, advanced physics isn't working.
And yes, they are too fast to stick to the inner walls in turns...

3. I don't know how much from their resources they used, but I still think that even if they haven't used much of them, compared to they might have done more issue fixing, it was too much to be able catapulting peeps of flumes as a feature. And if they were using more resources for this, it's even worse...

If it should allow real catapult flumes, they would have needed to add a specific flume end!

I could understand it if it would be a feature while in testing mode to see if a flume is save and if not and peeps are falling off the flumes, you couldn't open it.
As it is now, it's just a childish feature like the known peep bowling with coasters...

I really like the new generic Outamax coaster train, I just wish we had it on the Energy model with the older style box track.

It would be wonderful if you could post any bugs you are having on the Issues Tracker. You did some good investigating and I'm sure they'd love all that information to help figure it out. :)

Wasn't me who was wrong, and those criticism about me wasn't necessary if some people would think about what they were reading before posting...


 So let's try to handle what they actually gave us and/or let's wait for the next update to do so...

But now, they have to set the priority to fixing issues including quality control... It won't make anything better if a fix is causing new issues.
 
The coming updates are great, but there's no big hit to bring players back (it's normal that the restaurants now have a new mechanic after years). All that's coming now are the basics of Planco 1, which should have been there at release. I also think one feature per month is too little. When exactly is everything from Part 1 supposed to be included??? And we don't just want old Planco stuff, but completely new rides or attractions. Parades, arcades, many more rides for kids (there were already too few of those back then), new horror animatronics for dark rides/ghost trains... And everyone's waiting for paths without curbs and smaller paths/employee paths. Why isn't something like that added now/in between? Miss Elly and the red stones for the Wild West are also missing, as are the shooting cowboys. It's all taking a bit too long for me...🤔
