Update 3 is available now for Planet Coaster 2 all platforms!

Features

Please note that existing flumes will need to turn the ‘Enhanced Guest Flume Behaviours' toggle on to see the new flume behaviours. Existing flumes in your parks may also be affected visually due to clipping with the new round bottomed flumes - adjustments to your flume placement will resolve this.

Newly placed flumes will use the new flume behaviours toggle by default.

  • Enhanced flume behaviours
    • Flume bottoms are now rounded as part of Update 3 and inflatables will deform to match this shape as they slide down!
    • Your guests will also enjoy more variation in how they travel down the flume special pieces, determined by their entry speed into the piece! You will need to toggle ‘Enhanced Guest Flume Behaviours’ on to see this.
    • Flume jettisoning also makes its way into Planet Coaster 2, with tight corners and bumps at high speed ejecting guests into the air! Although it is fun to watch people and rafts go flying, this will impact your guests’ happiness.
    • In addition to the above, Update 3 also features general enhancements to physics and guests behaviours on flumes.
  • Career Mode Sandbox maps
    • Pre-made maps from the Career Tutorial and Act 1 have been added to Sandbox Mode to give you a starting point and get your creative juices flowing!
  • Returning theme
    • Yee-haw! Customise your park with the returning Western theme, featuring more than 350 scenery pieces. These include building props, animatronics and wall sets inspired by the untamed Wild West.

Rides

We’re bringing you more standard “de-themed” versions of coasters to put your own creative spin on:

  • The Vector – Sit Down Launched New Gen
  • The Outamax – Launched Hydraulic.
The plane and racing car inspired pieces from these coasters can now also be used separately as standard scenery pieces!

We're also pleased to bring back another ride from the original Planet Coaster, introducing the return of the thrilling Vector - Inverting Suspended, which will turn your guests upside down (quite literally!)

Adjustments and Enhancements

  • Multi-Select tool UI enhancements
  • Improvements to staff scheduling
  • Tweaks to park economy
  • Many bug fixes and improvements, including crash fixes

This is just a glimpse at what's included in Update 3 - if you'd like to dive into all the details, visit the full changelog for the nitty-gritty!

We also recently shared an updated look at our Spring roadmap for Planet Coaster 2, including some details on what you can expect in Update 4. We'll be sharing even more details on this month's Frontier Unlocked, airing Wednesday 26th March at 6pm GMT.

As always we're incredibly grateful for all your continued support and feedback - if you're continuing to experience any issues, do please continue to report any bugs on the Issue Tracker.

Thank you again!

Thanks for the info, could you please clarify on:

  • Keyboard shortcuts for “Advance Move” and “Advance Move and Duplicate” are disabled when in Edit Building mode

Does this mean we are not able to advanced move any scenery pieces (non gridded) via shortcut, if we are editing a building?

One of the new features is
Flume jettisoning
To be honest, this is the most stupid thing you could waste your dev resources for!
Instead of setting all priorities in working on issues to fix, you're giving us (beside fixes) such a childish feature? No words...

Going this way, you will need to expand the roadmap till the end of the year.

This is a bit unfair, cause first it is not that they weren't fixing a lot of stuff. The fix list is exhaustive and i guess the feature is not that far from 'needed' things: a dummy 'send flying from a too sharp curve' is probably needed for realistic flume physics. Why not have a bit of fun and give players the option to have some 'catapult' slides into the water.

The landing on path is just a funny animation, but probably nothing you really want. So i don't guess there are not much ressources put on the actual feature it is more a byproduct of needed stuff. Though I am a bit curious if you can create safe airtime on flumes and how closed flumes reacte to it.

Physics... ok, but this is intended to give a unrealistic "funny" feature for kiddies.
If there is something unfair, then only to those who paid a full price for a crappy product at release.
They had to programm those physics and animations for chrashing behaviour and if not landing in water, plus negative results at peeps. And of course this is needing resources they could have used for requested issues to fix!

First of, it is ok not to like something i dont like it either, but stop insulting other people's playstyles. It is not that any of us has the right to call his playstyle the right one. There are people that like this period.

And again, i probably think they fixed as much issues as they could. Some things go fast, some take real ressources and some things are probably easier, but i am guessing some 'gravity' based physics, just one new animation doesn't take much. the negative result is probably more easy as it is even a basic stat change we already have all over in the game.

So even if it is a 'big feature' I am not sure, if there was soo much ressources allocated to, probably less than some nasty bugs they fixed, you see when you read the patchnotes.

I wasn't criticising other players!

It was just that they have decided to programm something which nobody was asking for...
And that they better should have used their resources (even if it wasn't really much) for fixing more issues.

I also find this unfair my friend - Even though I will likely never use jettisoning as a feature on its own, having it ultimately contributes to the game feeling more realistic and finished. A sense of challenge and necessity in building water slides properly according to physics. In 2 years time if guests still stuck to the slides when going over hills or corners way too fast, it would feel unfinished. I agree there are many more aspects we want them to work on, and it looks like they will be doing, but I do believe this aspect will feel necessary and ensure there's a long-term polished and realistic feeling to the game when we look back.

It's ok if you like that feature, but it's not unfair to criticise that decision.
It's my opinion about their priority list.

If the game would be fine, I wouldn't criticise them for what they are wanting to add next because it's completely up to them (in general its up to them, but actually they owe us release issue fixing somehow)...

You could ask other people if they are ok with those priorities and that something like e.g. a kerbs toggle (because I read it as often or other subjectively important stuff) they are hardly wanting might get less dev resources because of those features...

And this ok, there were people who wanted realistic flumes and some who wanted to have the feature of catapulting people in a pool, this is not even unrealistic.

It is ok not to like the priority, it is ok to say you don't like the feature at all, but calling a feature childish you belittle basically everyone that asked for it. Like i am almost to furious disappointed that there arent any meaningful management changes...guess what i was thinking to get PZ a while back and I am missing the premium dlc for PC2, but i was happy to spend my steam spring sale 'money' elsewhere, cause right now I am done with buying frontier stuff, simply cause i dont like the update direction right now, but dont call wanted features childish.

It is one thing to allow catapult flumes (I know that there are some in real life), but I'll stick with it, making it that way that you can design a crash test dummy lab, this in fact is childish and don't deserve any priority.
We are just thinking different ways...

But the point remains rct,_uwe1, that your priority is no more important than anyone else's. Perhaps in the future wordsmith your replies before you post. It did come off as very condescending.

Honestly, you and like one or two others on the forums mention kerbs in nearly every single post. I think the powers that be have gotten the message. YOU want kerbs. Got it. YOU think the game is unfinished. Got it. YOU think they should do better by YOU. Got it. Could we please move on?

Beating a dead horse isn't going to make him run any faster.

It is a mixed situation. Yes, we all on the forums are little pests :D

But Frontier isn't doing a good job on communication, quantitywise. I really love the posts of Paul and all the others, but they are too less.

Let us take Kerbs as an example: Kerbs were an issue, where they were silent for 5 months. Then they posted something a steam forums thread. (Steam forums aren't that great in my opinion, since it is really hard to find threads there). So it took CKM and me to copy this stuff to the forums thread in their Suggestions forums. For me the case is closed, i have my answer and everything is fine. But letting this topic boil and marinate in a soup of negativity is not something you should do: Silence most of the times escalates a situation, communication deescaltes.

Also they got this show frontier unlocked, where they showcase diffrent cool stuff, but it is also sometimes a bit tonedeaf and most of the times it comes down to one single topic: the community feels unheard and there for an alienation process is starting.

While i was a young apprentice in media business, one of the first things i learned, word of mouth is one of the most powerful marketing tools as you turn consumers into testimonials and this situation is probably more often than not a case for bad exampling, what the consequences are of bad word of mouth.

You are absolutely wrong.

My post was about fixing issues instead of wasting dev resources.

My priority is on fixing all kind of issues which are existing since release, before adding new unasked "features".
I think this is the highest priority of nearly all of us.

I have no real priority in which existing issue should be fixed first. Personally, I would like to see fixed water ride issues, the most.
And btw I'm not one of those wanting a kerbs toggle or custom gift shops, first. The kerbs are just are an example of what I read the most lately and they aren't bothering me that much...

Maybe you should consider rethinking your post...
Thank you!
