Planet Coaster Orchestral Theme Song (working on it)

Planet Coaster Modern Orchestral Theme Song (working on it)

Hi everybody,

i love the planet coaster song, so i am working on a new orchestral theme - perhaps the developers like it and use it for the game? :)
I will post the final result here, when it's ready, i think i will make music video with some shots of planet coaster :)

That was beautiful!

A lame criticism would be that it sounds to contemplative, too chill, for the game. It's not quite melancholy, but it's close.

Nonetheless, I loved listening too it, and it is beautiful.
(I hate being critical, but there it is)

Yes, i know, you are right... the final version will have more "tempo".... but not too much, because its an orchestral version. It was not my intention to make a new party song like the original theme song, i wanted to make something new and different... but with this nice melody :)

When the track is final, i will release it for free download, so everybody can use it for planet coaster videos :)

It's a good early attempt, but I respectfully say you need to learn a little more about how orchestral pieces are arranged, particularly in how your strings are being played in the background. RIght now the piece is too structured. They should be counter to the main medley, not in sync with it. They also attack and decay far too quickly. If you can't adjust that, try using a volume envelope, they should ebb and flow, not stop and start, if that makes sense.

Have a listen to some classical music and see how the orchestra backs up the melody and flows with it rather than playing along with it.

Cheers.

I'd love to use this in the game, I really do hope for custom music.

I can just imagine the guests walking around the park gardens with this playing lightly in the background.

Great work Saschaende. [up]

I could imagine that coming from speakers in a garden setting or restaurant, where one does not like to have the normal version.
Would be neat if this was in game at some time.

I like it, but I would also love to have a more grandilicuent piece (thats what i thought when I read the title of the thread). Not saying you need to make it, this version is already pretty good as a melachonlic, but I would love to hear some epic big orchetra of the song in the future. Like maybe something that you would hear at the entrace of a movie studio park, that sounds like the movies.
This one would work perfectly in the garden of the park for example, like stated above.

Wow. Just wow. Love it!

I agree with Periocus. Having that coming out of speaker in a tranquil part of a park would be awesome.

This is just an early attempt after 3 hours of work. Its like a software alpha ;)

Final result will be epic, with brasses... like my other music. The final song also will have only piano at the beginning.

Yes, it will be like this when the song is ready. This is a first attempt to get the notes and chords i need for. The final song will sound completeley different.

Now its 3 hours of work... the final song will have arround 40 hours of work. Like the developer of planet coaster i also publish some kind of alpha previews of my songs - for some people it is interesting to see the development.

I think the next version of this song will be ready this evening (12 hours from now german time).

But like planet coaster, not everybody understands that this is not the final song... just a draft :)

That was me who mentioned it "not being real Orchestral" (actually I didn't say that) but I meant nothing nasty, just constructive criticism. I am a composer as well and sometimes it's good to get different views. Always helps my work get better.

To truly write orchestral music that sounds "right" you need to know how the actual instruments are played, otherwise you get notes that can't exist in the real world and sound out of place. This is just a general comment, not necessarily aimed at this piece.

You are right! And yes, constructive criticism is much better then "yeah you are the best" :)
Thank you for your feedback in my posting.

If somebody is interested, here are more then 500 songs of all genres you can listen to:

Also my "orchestral music":

As you can hear, i am not focussed on realism... its modern film music. I am using instruments regardless of realism. I also mix classical instruments with modern sythensizers. In film music i also use long basses and mix real strings with synthetic strings, that are not realistic - but i like it.

In this planet coaster version the strings, for example, are played faster then real humans can. But thats not important for me.
"Orchestral music" is just a genre (like Techno, Rock or Pop), so most people know whats about. I think the correct definition would be "Modern, 20th, & 21st Century" or perhaps "Contemporary Orchestral".
