Planet Coaster OS compatibility

I recently got rid of my Roller Coaster Tycoon 3 and went all in to purchase Planet Coaster, because I heard it is supposed to blow roller coaster tycoon out of the park. I was considering upgrading to an iMac computer. I don't know if anyone at Frontier will see this or not, but I would greatly appreciate it if you could make a Mac OS compatible version of Planet Coaster sometime in the future. I also have a lot of friends who really want to play Planet Coaster but they are religious Mac users and refuse to buy a PC. So PLEASE add Mac OS to the game compatibility. I think it would increase your sales of the game even more, as there are people in the world like my friend who only like one type of computer, and they don't want to go purchase a PC just to play the game. I'm probably just rambling for no reason, but I honestly believe that this game should be compatible for Mac OS users as well.

Devs have been a bit coy on this front. I am sure they have looked at it but have no current plans.

I would dual boot if i were you. Use bootcamp to install windows on your Mac. Works really well.

Planet Coaster makes extensive use of GPU features (e.g. compute shaders) that are unsupported by the version of OpenGL that is present in OSX. This version is over 6 years old, but Apple show no signs that they want to update it. This means that even if Frontier wanted to create an OpenGL port of Planet Coaster, it still wouldn't work on a Mac. Apple are pushing for developers to support their Metal API instead of OpenGL, but this is primarily targeted at mobile operating systems and is intended more for image / video processing than high-end gaming.

As Rhuloe notes, bootcamp is a potential solution. However, before going down this route I would suggest checking if the Mac's GPU meets the minimum specification for the game.

I was wounding if anyone has heard if the game is being developed for Mac OS just to see if I need to boot amp as I rally wanna play!!
