Planet Coaster - Planet Zoo merge!

There are no plans of doing so.

And it wouldn't be possible due to differences in Engine architecture.

No thanks. I'd rather have the two separate. Theme parks with zoos inside of them are known to have extremely stressed out animals, so it wouldn't work well with this game. Not to mention, that I'd rather have a zoo tycoon type of game, where you manage a zoo and animals, than having to manage a theme park with animals. Not to mention, usually the games with theme parks and animals mostly focus on the theme park aspect, and not the actual animal aspect sadly.

It’s not possible, and thank god for that. The engines are different and planet zoo is a full game on its own. Many computers would not be able to handle it. It would crash before it could even load.

And even if it were possible, it would sort of be a nightmare, and not even that fun. Glad they are keeping them both separate, as people keep saying that there's no reason for the game to be separate.

Not according to Frontier

All Frontier’s games are developed using our proprietary Cobra cross-platform technology, allowing code and resources developed on PC to be compiled and run on other platforms such as Xbox One, PlayStation 4, iOS and Android devices, while offering the flexibility to take advantage of the different platforms’ capabilities (e.g: different artwork resolutions, shaders etc.).

This modern Cobra platform represents the current state of an ongoing investment that Frontier has made in its proprietary engine technology and development tools since 1988.

Planet Zoo also has all the necessary mechanics from Planet Coaster to make rollercoasters. In fact, the tour tracks already use the same system, just dialled down so players can't build loop-da-loops in their zoo or whatnot.

The only rides I would like to see in Planet Zoo are smaller boat/gondola options and a Merry-Go-Round, anythibg else would feel extraneous.

They are all on the Cobra Engine, but the Cobra Engine version of PC is far removed from the PZ and JWE/JWE2 one, to a point where there are breaking changes and at this point we can even go as far as saying they're two different engines.

I was going to said the same like iben. Basically planco cobra engine version is more primitive and from what I know has optimization issues. Also one question: The planco console version: which cobra engine version has?
