Planet Zoo | Americas Animal Pack | Announce

Something feels very off about the rhea model, and a friend pointed out that is has very ostrich-like anatomy

It basically presents as a pale ostrich IMO
Thanks for the reference pics. I am not a bird person so I would not have seen it on my own, but yep, that is not satisfying. The color could be a variant thing, but the legs... not.

I don’t appreciate that you’re just copying what I’m saying. If you disagree, the least you can do is have some respect.
I didnt buy a zoo game to spend 5 hours looking for a tiny bug in a humongous exhibit that i can rarely reasonably incorporate in a build in the first place
The whole point of the Exhibit animal system is so small animals can be more easily incorporated into builds. I don’t know why builders would oppose the convenience.

Eh, a pale ostrich wouldn't have so many feathers all over it's head and neck.
It's true that it's very noticeable once you see it though, I would have preferred if the wings blended more into the body but honestly the rest looks pretty good.

I felt the same about it. Generally I'm positive about the animals in the pack, but the rhea model seems off. Usually they are more slender and there height-to-lengh ratio is higher. The model in the new images looks a lot more ostrich/emu-like, and less rhea-like.

I'm not saying it's a bad model. The feathers are still amazing, it just looks off in the picture. Hoping it's another example of a misleading image and it looks better in the game. Either way, it doesn't ruin the pack for me.

Im not trying to be disrespectfull, so sorry if it seemd that way.
Idk the exhibits are obnoxiously large and super inflexible, and just kinda go against the otherwise more or less complete freedom of creativity. Imo its just way more convinient to just build a custom one

Gonna be frank here, I’m buying a zoo game for animal management. I didn’t buy a zoo game to spend 5 hours being meticulous with the architecture.
I kinda view them as equally important. I love building and architecture cause it’s the meat and bones of the game (imo) but without a wide variety of animals to build for the building doesn’t mean much. They’re not comparable imo

Yeah, however we can make almost anything with the build sets we have. We still can't make fleshed out reptile houses or bug houses, unfortunately

Especially to Frontier and Planet Zoo creators,...
Since Barnyard Animals Pack, how come no more Exhibit animals?
Because we dont get scenery packs anymore, so they swap the exhibit animal in animal packs for a couple pieces
What did you mean by "a couple pieces"?

The 80~ scenery pieces we got in barnyard, zookeeper and this new pack instead of the the exhibit animal
Yeah. Barnyard featuring domestics could have hamsters as Exhibit. Also for Americas, maybe toad or piranha for Exhibit? And as for Zookeeper, I don't know since I hardly know what kind of theme Zookeeper pack was supposed to be. Random?

Unless we get some brand-new, absolutely groundbreaking exhibit animals (such as macaws for the Walkthrough exhibit), I prefer the building pieces. Barnyard brought a lot of props that I consider essential to a farm/rustic area, and I can't wait to mix them with the ranch stuff we're getting in this new pack.
As for Zookeeper... The scenery definitely exists. Never really found much use for it other than the metal pieces.
So yes, if I could choose between 70-80 new pieces and a beetle that I can't even see in an exhibit as big as my room, then I'd pick the pieces.
