One and only friendly reminder to keep things on-topic and respectful.

If you'd like to discuss regional pricing (Steam) or general ideas/suggestions following this announcement, I'd suggest you make a new thread in the relevant forum areas.

And in the spirit of the holiday season: please treat each other kindly and respect each other's opinions; there's no need for anyone to not feel like their opinion or thoughts aren't welcome here.

I'm always a kind person.
I couldn't hurt a fly. (only musquito's).

ps. Can I use a signature with "so called Frontier spokesperson"?
Sounds pretty good to have that title.

Don't worry, we also announced that update 1.1 (alongside this paid content) is full of free new content and bug fixes. The team are working super hard to continue making improvements to the game and fixing issues that have been reported. That doesn't stop, the two things are handled separately. And we are very dedicated to post-launch support and community feedback. If you have any bugs in particular you have been experiencing, are they already on the Issue Tracker? I'm happy to pass on some feedback and see if anything you mention will be fixed in 1.1 :)

Thanks for your reaction Bo, but you can't deny that it is really frustrating when you buy a game with multiple bugs, its really strange that while that bugs ar not fixed that game introduces a new DLC pack.
On the fixes coming with the free update, we can't assume that this update will fix the many bugs, being there that the (before) last update made more problems wich did not exist before that update.

Couldn't be happier with this announcement and update 1.1!!!! Thanks Frontier!
Probably as opposed to most people, I'm most looking forward to the Dall sheep. I'm really interested to see the climbing mechanics for caprid animals, which are obviously a lot different than those from felids or monkeys. Will they also have climbing needs? And if so, would some rockwork fullfil those needs?

Of course we wouldn't deny that, Mike! We've been super active on all of our channels to make sure you, and others who are experiencing issues, are being heard and we are addressing your feedback as quickly as possible. Check out the free update next week, and if there's any pesky bugs that still occur in your game, please do tell us via the forums or Issue Tracker - we'd love to help you ASAP :).

so sorry if I may sound rude .. I just want to know will there be any future dlc packs . or more animal packs . I am prepare to spend money on planet zoo dlc packs. as a thanks you to you all .

I literally started a new zoo in the Norwegian tundra biome because I was way too excited to see the northern lights in the sky. I am not Norwegian but I’ve been living in Bergen for the past 5 years so I consider Norway my second home. I’m soo excited for this new pack, the animals are amazing and I’m so happy for reindeers, as my boyfriend and I usually go up to tromsø and we always make sure to visit the villages and spend time with these adorable animals. Thank you so so much for a new wolf as well, they are my favourite! Best Christmas gift ever!

I honestly stopped reporting on the issue tracker. There's no feedback whatsoever, even re bugs from Beta. If you contribute to one issue, you cannot track that. Your patch notes so far are not very detailed (or there's no detailed version; two versions the better choice imo) to see if a specifc bug has been adressed by a patch. Are there any internal plans to develop this tool further?

Hi Bo - I have an Issue Tracker bug I'd love to know if it's being addressed, or can be, in the next update. Could you let me know? It would be most appreciated. This is the issue:

It's about staff not getting trained in sandbox mode. It used to work but hasn't since 1.0.3.
Thanks!

Have a nice one!🍻

Thanks for the support! It was not removed from the base game :) there's a dedicated team working on content, as well as everyone working on continued bug fixes, community content, and other improvements. Update 1.1 will be the next big step!

So how many DLC packs does Frontier plan on making for Planet Zoo?

One every month? Two months? Three months?

I'll be very happy if new content will be available with such frequent intervals!

I didn't see the dall sheep coming, but I love them! The icebear and caribou are awesome, and I'm really interested in the arctic wolf, I wonder if it differs from the timber wolf that we already have or if it's simply a different color. I doubt the icebear is a recolored grizzly, because icebears have a different body with a really distinctive face.

10 euro is a bit much for 4 animals, but considering we'll get Scandinavian (and Mexican themed?) building objects as well, plus two new scenarios, I suppose I can't complain. Will the new building items also include a Mexican theme, or did I not understand correctly?

Just a perspective:

Hearts of Stone for the W3 cost $10 USD. Imagine the amount of content there.

How to define if something is worth the money? I guess it's subjective. I don't think supporting the practice of $10 USD DLC with 4 animals and 200 assests is the correct decision. If everyone does that, what will we get in the future?

I also don't like an indirect assumption that financing the company by purchasing the DLC is a way to say thank you for a big update, or even updates.

Most likely. Probably for another 5 USD or so.

Better not come to my Zoo, I charge $9 for a Gulpee soda

That's interesting feedback, I'll have a look into that now. Bear with me :)

I know I'm a freak. but I would be happy with 1 every month :D Imagine what a wide range of animals we'd have after a year. But the masses will probably scream then. One every 3 month sounds bout like the content strategy Planco had, I believe. Sims has it as well, more or less.

I doubt they could develop them that quickly.

Out of curiosity (and forgive me if this has already been asked, it's too early in the morning to go through six pages of discussion and hayfever is making me partially blind), will the reindeer be specifically a European reindeer, or a more generic animal that can be substituted as a caribou? I just wonder, because although I agree that Europe needs more representation the caribou would seem to "slot in" better with the animals and content both in this DLC and in the base game.

Additionally, as excited as I am for the polar bear and Dall's sheep (though the latter seems like an odd choice, but I'm not complaining), the Arctic wolf feels a bit like a cop-out. Of all the Arctic animals possible, one of the only four animals we're paying for is a reskinned timber wolf. I get that making new animals is a lot of work, and perhaps there wasn't enough time before Christmas to create something brand new alongside the other three, but still. It's also relatively confusing, since the timber wolf currently is just a generic wolf, not the actual, subspecific timber wolf (which is more commonly known as the Northwestern Wolf, specific to Alaska/British Columbia/the Yukon). It reminds of me the original Zoo Tycoon, where we got the generic Grey Wolf, and then the Arctic Wolf alongside it even though the Arctic Wolf is actually a subspecies of the Grey Wolf in itself (not to mention we also got the Mexican Wolf in Zoo Tycoon, but I digress).

Will this DLC also change the Timber Wolf to be specifically a Timber Wolf, and not a generic Grey Wolf with the name Timber Wolf slapped on? Or perhaps some other subspecies of wolf?

For context, Wikipedia breaks down Grey Wolf subspecies pretty well: Subspecies of Canis lupus.
